My Post Mortem

Firstly sorry for the delay, I've been a bit busy with work since Friday.

Walker and Rose

Both had their heads turned by England players from other clubs, Dier as well. Walker didn't have a bust up with Poch as such, but made it clear in January if we didn't win something this year he wanted out and genuinely wanted to go north. Rose is not the brightest tool in the box and has really pissed off Levy and Poch especially the timing of his paper interview, which they felt hindered some of their potential signings. Considering Poch has improved him as a player, he signed a new deal last autumn and has been injured for months he has not done himself any favours. I expect him to be sold by next summer. Don't believe the bollocks about him being applauded by the other players it was the opposite especially Kane and Loris.

Ducks in a row

Probably a stupid phrase to use, what I meant by it was that we had been working on our main targets and alternatives for a long time and only contracts and rubber stamping needed to be done. Batshuayi was an example that I was told to be stum about and told about Llorente on Thursday night. We also tried for Martins with Gomes as the back up, unfortunately both didn't materialise for various reasons. Apart from those two i.e. quick WF we did what was planned for.

General

I think we have improved both the first 11 and the squad and still made a profit, which I am led to believe we will use in January to go back for Sessignon and Barkley. Re Barkley my contact was a bit meh about him all summer apart from the fact we had some interest at the beginning of the window, hence I didn't post on him much. My opinion is that he is wanted by some of the players more than Poch.

Lastly

A big thank you to all of the mods and especially A&C and Rob. There are some great posters on here, but unfortunately there are also some real knobheads and for that reason I am going to retire as an ITK. It has all become too stressful and with idiots putting stuff out on fake twitter it puts my contact in a dodgy position. With things being tighten up at the club any info going out to the wider world can be traced back to just a few people. You still have some great ITKs , but please give them a break next window otherwise I can see no ITK in the future.
As for you knobheads I am going on a cull and putting all offenders on my ignore list.

Knew we were in for Martins. Dayum.

I share poch's lack of enthusiasm for Barkley, but that u-turn he pulled on Chelsea has got him into my good books and would get right behind him if he ended up coming.

I say save the money, though, and redirect all efforts to get Martins in next summer and work on it from NOW.

Thanks for all the itk over the years, mate. Totally understand why you're ducking out of the game. Dickheads spoil everything. It's the age of 'anything for likes and retweets'. smh

That is a genuine shame. You've provided some great information over the years and, although not necessarily unique amongst in the ITKs in being able to write, spell and type, I did appreciate how you communicated as well as what you communicated.

Enjoy your retirement (although, if you do decide to change your mind or even temporarily transform yourself into a more caprine animal going forward, we'll welcome you and your information as always).

Cheers and all the best.

Great recap GF. Not sure if it already happened, but did Rob reveal who the insanely difficult cryptic was? GF makes is sound like Martins could have actually been the answer (which I still can't actually understand the logic of how he fit ;) ).

I don't think you can say we improved our first XI though. Aurier will have to be pretty damn good for that to be true. The squad is definitely stronger.

Martins would have been sensational. Hope he's still on our list.

Thanks for everything grey fox, always loved the updates. Hope you'll at least stick around and become part of the asylum

It was Andre Gomes.

Unfortunately, I fear Martins may be another one of those players who's window we've missed. I expect him to be far out of price range next summer.

So lets sign martins and sessegnon in January and Barkley in the summer

Sell sissoko nkoudou janssen in the summer and we should have a 0 net spend...

Then we go balls deep and bring GB home

@Grey Fox
You are legend amongst legends. We will miss you with your insight & knowledge but you must do what's right at the moment if there are ****s about. Hopefully, maybe, you feel you can come back on stream one day with your ITK.

BUT Spurs Community transfer window will be a MASSIVELY reduced place without your knowledge. Please keep posting as a regular fan because your Football insight is respected by many of us.

Moving on from this window and such sad info @Rob, @Archibald&Crooks as well as with the greatest respect to @JJetset, @Trix, @Hercules, @dovahkiin, you guys are also legends here and this TRAGEDY, as that is what this is, must be learnt from as you decide how move this fantastic place forward.

I know there is a thread to discuss the future of ITK & I will endeavour to copy over this post there, but this is the blackest shadow on SC's window.

God bless @Grey Fox, may you sleep in everlasting ITK peace. I love you.

thanks for all your info over the years old chap, it's always been appreciated, and a great shame that either someone on here or a viewer has used your nic to build a twitter handle and steal yours and other ITK'ers hard work.

on the bolded while putting them on ignore, can you not also forwards them to A&C to help stop them helping us lose these valuable sources.

hope you still contribute to the forum, and good luck

Our itks are valuable, but does anyone know why the goat doesn't get much use, when most people don't want to expose/track the source. I'd think, in this era of ITK lockdown, that it would be overrun, but doesn't seem the case at all.

Liverpool were quoted £90m this summer (allegedly) so may already be out of our price range. Hence not getting him.

Whether you call it from the goat or grey fox, I think the point was there are so few leaks now that any information put out on here is likely to be traceable back to the source.

@Grey Fox - there are many posters on here who i just ignore no matter what they say. Then there are others who i always read, and search for, for their wisdom and general thoughts. You sir fall into that latter category. You may wish to no longer be an itk but please still ensure you post as a valued member of the community.

I'm not sure why Gomes was a back up for Martins. They are different players who play in different positions. Makes no sense.

Part of the reason I feel RO shouldnt automatically go to twitter and the transfer/RO forums should not be viewable to guests. Maybe even restrict access upto a certain number of posts too
