in other words

Son will stay for another season
That's how I see this one panning out - Chadli out Nkoudou in, Son stays. Bentaleb, Mason, Carroll out. With Wanyama and Janssen already in, it means two of the key areas that needed addressing have been sorted, but overall I feel we're lighter than before the window, and are asking a lot of some very raw and inexperienced players – not least Nkoudou, who I'd be surprised if has a bigger goal return than Chadli, at least in his first season – particularly with a Champions League campaign to negotiate and in light of the strengthening the clubs around us in the league have done. Not exactly the hysterical crisis some are making out, but not great.

It will be Mason, Carroll and Son out

GKN in

Also spun a yarn about how we 'worked' on a transfer for Isco/James et al with the inevitable result.

BEN: son wont go until we get somone in

Makes perfect sense. If you look at our outs list, it's only really Chadli who was involved with the first team squad last season. N'Koudou should replace him in the squad.

It is clear that Poch wants to continue working with a small squad. Carroll/Mason would probably make way for another first teamer midfielder, and Son for a creative midfielder.
The N'jie situation however would seemingly make another first team squad place available...

Considering the Son rumours, it's possible that Poch would favour some more pace in the final third of the pitch over the smaller, creative players.

I will also hasten to add that it's an absolute certainty that we indeed agree a deal to sell Son before securing a replacement - and by replacement I don't mean GKN

See my post above, lets see what happens in the next 2 days ;). Poch has stated many times he prefers working with a smaller squad, how many times have people moaned on here about the form of players who only get a few minutes/games, but they still expect them to hit the ground running?

You know something, but aren't allowed to tell. Interesting.*

*This is pure speculation on my part, and I'm reading far too much into a wink. The above views are not representative of the stable and consistent mind of an SC user.

Tomorrow will either be a complete SC meltdown or a mass fiddle-fest

I know what my money is on!

I know things can change by the hour in terms of transfers and itk but I'm choosing to believe HY over BEN and than Son will stay. It just doesn't seem sensible at all to sell him. Don't forget that after Janssen he's our other back up striker who is first XI ready. Plus he's the only other player who can really play on the right hand side.

Still think we are leaving ourselves short. Even if Poch does like working with a smaller squad. We looked knackered towards the end of the season, and still do to be honest.

Hopefully we get a couple in.

Pretty sure its gonna be the first one, people will expect/hope for another VDV situation when imo that was the definition of a 'one off'

Thing is it's not just quality we're looking for it's seemingly quantity too. Turning out to be a strange transfer window.

Apparently Sky under big pressure from BT at the moment and losing lots of customers. Asked all presenters to take a pay cut, Jim White walked out.

I got excited for a second that I wouldn't have to watch White's smug arrogant grin on deadline day but alas, I just read that he's staying with SSN and just doubling his workload.

'HOLD ON NATHALIE, as we speak I'm getting a call from one of my sources on my mobile....' No you're not you massive ****, your 91 year old mum is calling you and asking what time you'll be home for dinner.

He's not even the worst one. The guys they get on to chat about the transfers, like Andy Burton and the Greek bloke whose name escapes me, they're horrid. Just horrid.

My take on this is that we're probably talking Zaha. Personally I think that would be difficult to do so I expect neither to move. Just my onions.
