I do like that line up, But would love to see a rotational 3 in midfield (with the 2 and the middle of the more forward 3 of the 4231) of Bentaleb, Carroll & Mason, and as you are with the rest of your formation... Rotational of course.

Dont know about cum, but a definate drool.

Pre-cum.

And Mason is more important than carroll would be overall, but just love seeing my boy tommy in a line-up.

So from what you all have heard, do you really think that the Dele Alli signing for Spurs is really going to happen, or do you think it is still a rumour? How reliable are these sources?

How do people know that there is a lack of activity? Is it because there is no ITK? Nobody has come forward and said we are in for whoever! I suggest that we have been spoilt for ITK over previous seasons, Like the old wartime saying Walls have Ears, Loose Talk etc. This time round we are going to have to wait and see if anybody does join. I hope there has been activity.

I'm sure there's been plenty of activity in the form of sounding-out behind the scenes, but the evidence of the past 10 years (see the list I posted a couple of pages back) is that we won't spend unless we absolutely have to. We did so in January 2009, because we still weren't out of the relegation mire, and got absolutely shafted because other clubs knew we were desperate. The only other January we've spent into double figures, when we mysteriously found we could buy the experienced CB the world and his wife were agreed we'd needed the previous summer, and also blew £8m on a Scotch thumb impersonator. We might snap up a bargain, but they're few and far between in January, and the ones we have signed (Pienaar and Holtby spring to mind) haven't worked out.

I can't remember who said it but apparently Levy gets a buzz about making deals on deadline day, fingers crossed Daniel pulls it out of the bag.

Umm yes they arse and utd have been linked to him all season. He's a very good defender

Agents are notorious for linking players falsely with clubs to drum up interest. From what I've seen he's an average player.

Reid would be a solid signing and would improve the squad. He would challenge Fazio now for a starting spot.

You dont need to spend millions on a defence. Just good, solid defenders who know their role and give the ball to the deep lying midfielders. It is all about the defensive unit. Just look at Liverpool in recent years and the cash they have spunked on fancy defenders and got nowhere.

Challenging Fazio for a starting role is no big thing. If we're serious about challenging for top 4 then Fazio is the one one who should have the back-up role.

They started spending silly money under Warnock—the financial year ending 31 May 2012 they almost doubled their wage bill from £30m to £58m, 91% of their turnover, which had shot up from £16m to £64m following promotion. The next financial year things got even sillier after Hughes' summer 2012 signings; turnover fell slightly to £61m, but the wage bill went up to £78m, the 7th highest in the league, 128% of turnover. Unsurprisingly, the annual loss went up from £23m to £65m, and debt from £89m to £177m.

Warnock and Hughes signed 24 players between them, and Redknapp was given another £20m in January 2013 to stave off relegation. According to http://www.transferleague.co.uk/premiership-transfers/qpr.html he's been surprisingly restrained since he took over, with a net spend of just over £5m. I think you need to point the finger of blame at Fernandes and Hughes, not Harry. You hope Fernandes doesn't run his airline like he runs his football club.

As I said after Redknapp's time at Portsmouth, the blame lies with any chairman stupid enough to let Redknapp (or any other manager) bankrupt their club.

I'm not sure how you arrive at net spend of £5m. I make it £30.5m. That's just simple transfer fee calculation on transparent deals, but even that doesn't include the "undisclosed fees" like Jenas, Henry, Donaldson, Phillips, McCarthy, Robinson. And then there are the "free" transfers that came with varying (some pretty substantial) wage packages like Dunne, Benayoun, Hughes, Onyewu, Oneil, Simpson, Ferdinand and the "loans" where fees and wages will have been paid.

In two years under Redknapp, 21 players have been brought in and 28 players moved on. And they haven't improved an inch. Players like Mbia (who went on to win a Europa league with Seville) and Granero have been replaced by the likes of Fer and Mutch.
