Got moaned at by the missus for reading this in bed and not getting her a cuppa. Ever tried to justify reading something as mental as a Star Wars ITK story? Cheers @Archibald&Crooks kickstarting the day in style. May the dwarfs be with you.

This isn't going to happen imo but at least we tried... lol

It'll be Georges-Kevin N'Koudou on deadline day and that will be our lot.

Levy must have really taken the saying 'To Dare Is To Do' to heart. How many times have we heard that we really tried to get this or that player and we failed? Reasons for failure have included broken fax machines, shifting goalposts, etc. We really need to move beyond trying or daring to a place where expended energy actually results in something. Trying and failing on a regular basis is not a great recipe for success. We need to 'Dare and Do'.

Did anyone really expect that this was a potential deal that wasn't going to be a struggle to push through?

It's Isco... if he's coming to London, uprooting from Real Madrid, it'll be kicking and screaming I'd imagine.

This may well be just a coincidence but we tried to sign Isco back in 2012 as well.

and that was our chance to, back then.

It's no coincidence we are reported to be in for this level of player every summer, in the last few days of the window. But the deal never gets done. Signing Rafa was not the same, before anybody tries to suggest so.

he is you know!

Maybe to please the karma gods into giving us a galactico signing of our own, all thee that post here, a donation shall be made?

I hear and obey, let the gods of ITK hear my prayers and my £5 monthly donation and deliver a player that satisfies all SC posters' requirements.......what was that gods, I didn't quite make out what you said......I.... am...a ...stupid ****....:(.

We certainly need Isco level players in.
Its been the same story since 2010 though. I know we are building a stadium but we are out spent by over half of the PL now...no way can we keep up without quality investment.

Ben's info seems sensible....the other ITK more exciting but that's what keeps us going.

As others have mentioned 'To dare is too dear'!

It's a good recipe for keeping the cash in the bank though. Isco is probably this window's Aguero.

Shame if we don't get Isco because unwilling to pay the asking price. We really lack 2 elements in our squad from an attacking perspective.

1. Searing pace (Isco doesn't have this, he's quick, but not Mane quick...) but Isco does have this:
2. A world class dribbler (Dembele's our best and is world class further back in the pitch but not so much when the space is tight.) Isco is that person.

This is just opinion, but Isco really fills a big gap in our squad with his ability to dribble. He's got to be one of the best dribblers in the world, with Hazard like ability to beat men in tight spaces. Exactly the sort of player you need to open doors to parked buses - it helps that he has great vision, 2 feet, and ability to pick a pass/cross too...

What other clubs are "net spending" on players, we've been spending on infrastructure, while we still look to be around 6th on the wage table. Wages are statistically the better way to gauge where a team "should" finish, so as long as we still pay somewhat decent, we should be able to attract the right level of talent.
