I agree that we could use a pacey forward with tricks.

While Zaha is quick and tricky he has never shown an ability to finish, has never shown that he was particularly good at picking a pass and isn't great at crossing.

Maybe i am wrong and working with Poch would allow Zaha to finally show he has more in his game.

But for the prices being tossed around you would hope we could get a forward with more going for them than "he's fast".

I wonder whether Levy was banking on getting Berahino this time round as final year, change of Chairman etc. But he didn't bargain on Stoke offering up £20m.

I think zaha is exactly what we need, I know that is not a popular opinion but we need a direct, pacey forward with tricks. He is young so has potential to improve.

Agree, we need someone direct and pacey, but I actually think Zaha is deceptively average to decent paced. That's the problem with us we never truly rectify the problems most of the time. Just look for cheaper options players that will maybe solve problems in the squad and then try to move them on in a season or two.

Played worse last season first 3 games. And on top of that in pre-season the vibe around here was that we have strengthened and done very good business.

But of course people will throw all that out of the window only 3 games into the season and because we get linked to a big name and when it eventually doesn't happen, people like to throw their toys out of the pram.

Undoubtedly related to the frustration levels associated with always being the "nearly" team.

Or related to knee-jerk reactions about only 3 fucking games into the new season.

Out spent by half?? You're having a laugh, just look at the spend table for the last 5 years, we're outspent by all the other PL teams. We are the 6th richest club in the PL, and according to the last figures I saw, we are the 12th richest club in the World. it makes me laugh the number of people on here that say we can't afford a 20/25 mill transfer fee. Of course we could afford it. Building a stadium is not an excuse, this season there is incoming CL money plus a big increase in TV money. Those sums were not budgeted for when the stadium build was costed, they are extra. At least some of that extra money could be spent on a couple of quality first team players in order to compete in 4 competitions.

Isco and James really need to leave RM. Nether are Spring chickens and both should be playing week in week out. They could/will ruin their careers if they stay. Personally don't have a problem with how much money he (enic) spends.

But the way he does deals is exactly why we keep missing out on players and have employees resigning (Mitchell).

No one expected top4 last season - we hoped. Now we do because we saw, what the team was capable off.

Also all the ITK at the end last season and start this season was, we wouldn't be very active in the window just build on what we have. To be honest i expected a quiet window from the start, just people seem to forget what the info was earlier in the window. Still I understand the frustration when we don't keep up with our opponents, which we need to do imo.
