Saw on Twitter earlier that Ade's brother died today. Hopefully he will give us a good season but I'm sure it will affect him no doubt. Sad news all the same.
not true. Its a shameful rumor started by a so called Spus fan @theboyhotspur

Unless we sell Bale we're going to be far more in the red than in the past.

We've got players we can shift, but apart from maybe Lennon (should we choose to sell him), I don't see any other player worth £10m+

If we make the CL next season, with the addition of the new TV money, we will easily have the revenue to cover it. It's worth a gamble to spend the money needed to break into the top 4.

If DO sign Soldado (I'm not getting my hopes up), is that our transfer window then as far as ins go? Can't imagine we'll go for anyone else.

I don't think so mate, can see us bring in a few youngsters or else make a deadline day run at someone who Levy sees as a deal. Nobody loves Levy Time more than Levy.

Yeah, that would make sense. I couldn't imagine anything big aside from a deadline day special ala VdV.

More likely departure on deadline day once the first team is sorted. (y)

If we sign Soldado, we're getting to the stage where I don't want any more players!
There'll have to be a fair few outs and loans but if we just snapped up a couple of young players that would be enough for me.

Like you said earlier, I don't want players like Sigurdsson or Holtby marginalised or leaving. Dempsey, Lennon, Defoe, Huddlestone, Parker can all wend their way for all I care but I think we should be careful cos a team stocked with new players will need time to gel, and we need to hit the ground running.

You fucking mad or something..............i want more players, lashings of players, players here, there and every fucking where! I want players who's name starts with a "Z" and end in "O" i want players who are as hard as fuck, and as skillful as Hoddle. I want them all and i want the mother fuckers NOW!............................please

We might be operating on a £50m net spend if you want to believe that number holds true. That might be what AY was alluding to. That's how I view the whole Lewis making funds available thing. It's a nice, clean number and outgoings can clearly affect where we stand on that.

I agree in that it goes well against the grain of our model for transfers. Yes Benteke is a lot younger and represented a securer option from the point of view of resale. But then again he's only had one season in this League. It was a massive price in fairness, as much as many of us wanted the deal to happen.

Soldado is an exceptional forward, he's proven, not in this League granted but nevertheless as somebody else pointed out Spanish players seems to adapt very well to the Premiership in the main.

I don't think its a massive gamble in all honesty. This is about signing a top level forward, proven quality bang in his prime and expecting him to perform from the off. Its big money but that's the nature of the beast if you want proven quality.

Its a statement of ambition. Said earlier we have to walk the walk. If we are keeping Bale we need to demonstrate some ambition and have a go this season otherwise what's the point, why not just sell him this summer for a record fee?

We have more money this summer over the lucrative TV deals. AVB needs to be backed. So many factors that are telling me that we have to exercise a little more bravery this window, and Levy won't be cavalier to the point of compromising the Club - we all know that.

Makes sense to me, and I'm relieved as much as I am excited. We simply need this sort of signing which isn't exactly the norm for us. It won't go unnoticed either, as I think many people are judging us and where we go from here....having one of the best players in the world currently at the club and we've been knocking on the door for a while in terms of competing with the big boys.

IMO, our time is now. We have to go for this.

If Soldado cannot score 20+ goals in his first season with us with the amount of talent that will be around him then Baldini should be fired. The cost of signing him is irrelevant should we make the top four. The cost of not making the top four with him, would i feel kill any risk left in Levy's body.

I want to believe ;). Not sure how much we'll get from our outgoings though

Think there are more to come after Soldado to be honest. Chadli is a good signing but is young and has struggled a little with fitness so I think we'll go for another front 3 player with Chadli being able to play any of the front 3. Also think we'll look at a LB. But honestly anything after Soldado will be a bonus and I'd be very happy to go into the season with the squad we now have assembled. Not perfect, but still unbelievably good.

for the amount of money to buy soldado i think we should have gone for benteke
I would rather have proven over potential. Benteke could be class but I think we need results now. I could be very much wrong but I think soldado is our best bet for CL.

im hoping we will still add 1 or 2 more which might shows some of the lads that seem content to warm the bench that there numbers are up and its time to move on.

After Soldado I reckon we will sit back and try get rid of some bodies, and if a good options comes up, I can see us taking it. But I certainly can't see us actively trying for another player after Soldado.

Ofcourse I would love it if we followed Soldado's signing with Coentrao but a striker will do me for now ha

Soldado + Coentrao I reckon... or maybe a double deal to bring Soldado + Aly Cissokho....

Instead of having twin Croat signings, we get twin Valencia signing.:p

If Soldado is in, I am quite happy with what we have.

Defense wise - I would like a full back who can play LB as well as RB.
If we can sign Coentrao on loan+buy option that would be great as well.

Hopeully, Kaboul & Sandro have recovered well from their longe term injury. rom CB perspctive, we are well stocked up there wit Fryers impressing in CB position in recent wam up ame.
