The time for selling our best players to domestic rivals has surely past. If we want to walk the walk we've got to start acting like it.

No domestic Bale sale - its that simple.

Whilst I agree with you in principle I would think £125m would be hard to refuse. No for a second do I think anyone would offer that though.

I just hope weve got our dempsey and rasiaks lined up because there is no way we could pull of deals like mata hilk or hernanes in a week

ok so maybe a moot point but the rumoured above 75million is not such a bad deal if my understanding is correct (happy t be proved wrong). If we sell to RM we pay no tax on the sale, however we do if we sell domestically. If what i read was correct regarding this then i calculate that 75 from RM is the equivalent of a world record fee if sold domestically and probably why its suggested Manure would need to pay 100Mil. I know i may be wrong with this because im only going on rumours and snippets ive read on't net but i think there may be something in this with regard to the difference in how big a difference between RM's and Manures potential rumoured fees

No, we pay corporation tax if the sale gives the company a profit

May be seen as a 'show spoiler' but not meant to be. One minute he is in London having medical, then next minute in Rome and training unlike Bale. rest is hypothetical assumptions about them signing someone and then he comes. Does not sit right at all.

I think it's simple really:

-A UK source made up the thing about him being in London
-they were wrong
-He is in Rome training, as he is not signed yet. He is being a professional
-He will fly out when all the final negotiations are done

There has been nothing to assume that the deal is far off, that he will not sign, or that there is even another club competing with him. Everyone is just getting impatient, nothing has changed. If we had no insight into the deal, everyone would be relaxed. It's knowing the little bits and pieces that makes people freakout.

True, we will just have to wait and see

A hero is born among a hundred, a wise man is found among a thousand, but an accomplished one might not be found even among a hundred thousand men.

I think Plato wrote something called 'Prophet'.

Hernanes' nickname is 'The Prophet'.

Any chance the quote comes from that Plato text?

Or maybe we're signing Plato from the Monty Python Greece V Germany Philosopher's football match?
