The point is Defoe is more of a threat than Ade, you can argue that Ade fits the mythical system better, but that didn't seem to apply when JD was tearing it up start of the season and when Ade looks a shadow of the player we had on loan. Ade's previous form for this, I'd cash in on him, but then again we all know how seemingly rubbish we are at signing strikers.

If Villa is coming in, then JD may probably be the better option to go. Ideally I'd like them both replaced by the way, but I sincerely doubt that will happen as per our previous.

He is more of a threat to the virtues of the Ladies of London maybe, not to the goalkeepers of our opponents

Soldado still makes sense.
We may well keep Ade, sell Defoe and play with a front 3 of Ade, Villa and Bale... can't exactly not have anyone on the bench eh!! Injuries, cups, general form rotation means another Forward player is imperative on top of Villa IF that is the formation/personnel train of thought.

If Ade isn't scoring he still provides a target, movement and generally more to the side. If the reason for playing Defoe over him is that he is likely to score more goals, than it is reasonable to think that it should be bore out in the stats but it is not. The reason AVB used Ade over Defoe, and the ITK are suggesting Defoe is the one we are willing to let go is that, unless he is willing to be an impact sub (and don't get me wrong, I think he is a good impact player), Defoe offers so little on the pitch as a starter it is worrying.

If the ITK is correct and we can bring in Villa he will be a great signing as his movement, awareness and goal scoring ability is on a different level to Defoe. However, we will still be left needing Ade as sometimes you need to play a target man, who can tire out a defence, there are few better than Ade at doing that, especially in our price range.

I also think that Ade and Villa could combine very well and could interchange between the centre and the left of the front 3, if that is how we are looking to play. If Bale is on the right of the 3 that could cause absolute havoc in defences.

The rumored goal scoring wide forward? PEA, Bernard (?), Remy, others that have been mentioned? Someone who can provide both roles if needed.

Next poster to mention Jermain Defuckingfoe will receive a nasty surprise. :sneaky:
A bedknob up their broomstick (yes I know it makes very little sense)?

All has gone quiet on PEA, hasn't it? But the Bernard murmurings seem to be bubbling along again and I'd love to see what he can do in England

You want us to sign Soldado and have him play second fiddle to Ade?! I'll have some of what your smoking please

An interchangeable front 3 of Ade, Villa and Soldado would be mental. This would give us so much flexibilty across all competitions allowing us to play to our strengths in every game. Even in the event of injury/suspension/ACN etc would would still have good cover.

Add to that Bale, Lennon, Siggy and even Dempsey plus our midfield and we should really have a shot at top 4+ next season.

Even if it's not Soldado but another and Ade goes and Defoe stays it's still looking good. I do think that second striker is key though.

Just like to take this opportunity to apologise for my previous avatar and any offence or trouble it may have caused. It was an error of judgement and I didn't consider people at work or those with fat spotty bums. Pert arse has been removed. Sorry :)

Ante Rebic..? Plays centrally or wide left cutting in I think. We did have some ITK a while back that were we're looking very closely at him I believe, even suggested it was close, before going very quiet. Then over the last few days there was talk mixed in with the Jedvaj/Halilovic stuff, that Dinamo were after him. This was dismissed yesterday by Dinamo's chairman, stating other clubs were in for him.

A computer virus that diverts processing energy into the victims monitor, overloading and exploding it leaving shrapnel in their face should do the trick.

Yes but I believe we had to pay him a considerable amount up front in wages or some other agreement in the name of going towards his charity. Not saying it didn't, but the overall fee to get Ade was more than the 5m to City.

Ideally if you were selling Ade you would want around 10m.

No we didn't, Man City had to pay him £5 million, that's why they were moaning we were getting him on a free transfer effectively.

The issue with Ade is that City reportedly still pay £100k of his wages. If he went elsewhere his wage demands would be double what we currently pay, or we'd end up subsidising them ourselves (like we are doing with Jenas for example).

IMO we'll sign Villa + another CF like Leandro or Soldado. I then think we'll start with a front 3 of Villa-LD/RS-Bale, with Dempsey-Ade-Lennon as our back-up trio.

He would be an interesting signing, but it appears to have all gone quite on the possibility of his transfer.

£6M for Ade isn't enough. it would cost 3 times this to replace him. People like to forget his first season for us imo. Granted last season was poor BUT he had injuries no pre season and was played in a different role compared to how Harry used him. now my opinion doesn't mean squat of course but id like us to keep him.
