Err no, because the big pay day is when they sell the club. To do that they have to increase it's value, that means over the long term build the club up, trophies, stadium, training grounds, etc... If done through careful management of funds it benefits all parties and in the end we get flogged to a high bidder.

So it IS in ENIC's best interests to see us do well... what they wont do is chuck endless cash at us to do it quickly as it is always about profit.

I agree but if in some kind of crazy world where coming 10th increased the value of the club, that is what we would be aiming for - i.e. they only care about how spurs can make them money.

Explain to me what made him travelling around America, fucking about when a transfer was in the pipeline last summer.

As a pro, he had a duty to get himself as fit as possible, without game time, in preparation. The fact he was well off the pace is something that does not sit well.
match fitness and physical fitness are two different things. He lacked match fitness, as you only get that from preseason games.

Well of course they do and that is technically the right way.
You can't tell me that in a normal business world running at a loss of over 400M a year is totally ok?! Yet that is exactly what Chelsea and Man City, PSG, Monaco think is ok to do, because their owners almost dont give a crap about the money.

That's about as sportive as shooting fish in a barrel, but no one cares, because apparently it is entertaining.

Thats the other extreme. I wish we were just run like a charity. We have £60+ mill coming from Bale next year, spend it now!

Lluongo and Pritchard arent getting a sniff of first team football in any match that matters.

I think you are a little over ambitious with how good our young players are here.

As I stated in my response, it's my personal opinion. Parker, Huddlestone & Livermore will only be cover, yet don't actually offer much when they're needed. So we may as well ship them out, clear their wages (which will be considerably more than the kids are earning) & then use our talented youngsters to provide the cover that our senior & more expensive options currently offer.

You also have to remember my original post & how I said Paulinho, Sandro & Dembele, with Holtby, Carroll & Sigurdsson waiting in reserve, is plenty of options for us. Not even a mention of Huddlestone, Parker or Livermore, so why continue to pay them big bucks when we can clear their wage, free up squad space & integrate our own youngsters?

Sorry if my opinion isn't to your liking CIAC, I just personally don't think the 3 I said could go, offer anything of significance when called upon.

It would really be good to get some ITK on outgoings. For all the excitement on incomings players like Hudd, Parker, Livermore and BAE(I don't agree with this one) all need to be cleared out and there doesn't seem to be any firm bids currently.

Yeah I was saying this last week... it is almost just as crucial to us as ITK whores, because it obviously gives us hope that we are signing replacements or using these funds for other positions or simply clearing the decks a little more.

All of those are up but the prices wanted are hilarious! Also lots of interest in Townsend and he may go.

Well if we're selling, or even loaning Townsend, then they must SURELY be looking to bring in a proven winger with pace now. Otherwise there's no advantage in letting him leave.

Ah. I thought Parker and Hudd were close to leaving? I don't blame Levy for trying to get maximum return though.

I'm surprised that we would consider letting Townsend go. We need as much pacey wing back up as possible.

I don't buy this "benefit of the club" bollocks anymore. Its only the benefit of Levy and ENIC that matters to the board. Often these two causes are one and the same but I have no doubt if finishing 10th every season turned out to be the most profitable then we would take that over winning the title.

The paranoia is strong in this one....

Unless we don't plan on using pacy wingers anymore... They're not a necessity in a 4-3-3.

What I don't get, and never will get, is when we are trying to sell our unwanted players, why do we insist on such a ridiculous high fee for them??

Take Jenas for example (no seriously, take Jenas. He's gone? Oh good), we were trying to get rid for a couple of windows, but were seemingly after an unrealistic price. And when no one paid the fee we were left with a player we didn't want, eating up wages, and devaluing by the day.

So how does that help our cause?

So, if there are suitors for hudd, Parker, et al, sell for a sensible price, get the player off the wage bill, and move on.

All seems perfectly logical to me
