Adrian would be a good signing but I heard he's going to Athletic Balboa.

EDIT: Need to stop this now, last one.

Yep. I can well believe we'll give him ~100K, maybe a few thosand more but with his signing bonus taken into account it will be higher. Even then, uness his signing bonus is say £10m over a 4 yr contract (and how plausible does that sound FFS?) £150K just isn't happening. And if it was and we had backing, let's go for a real big gun and throw the £10m signing bonus, plus the £5m-£7m we're quoted as looking to pay to citeh and whatever is left over from the Luka sale -minus the money spent on his replacement and goes balls out for a Falcao or someone.

Just complete bullshit. Or at least I hope it is. Levy will have gone bat-shit insane if there's any truth in this. As in, get him sectioned pronto crazy.

EDIT. £10m signing on bonus, not £20m.

Agreed, £100k pw or even maybe £120k pw max, if Ade has 2 years left on his contract that's £7m (on £100k) or £5m (on £120k) which he is giving up - but a part of that is given to him as a lump sum (not all DL would persuade Ade to come for less than £5m or £7m just to stay with Spurs).

Meanwhile Levy is arguing with Man City about the need to subsidise Man City giving Ade that wage in the first place and demanding the transfer fee be (say) £5m whilst Man City probably holding out for £10m.

All pretty straightforward ;)

So just a couple of rounds to go to agree the fee.

Adrian would be an EXCELLENT signing.

If we could get him for less than Sturridge or Moses, oh my god. What a steal. I think he could thrive in our striker role or maybe out wide.

Should also look at getting Jese, Morata, or Joselu from Madrid as part of the Luka deal if we want to look at Spanish attackers. Jese is a pacy, tricky winger with an eye for goal while Morata and Joselu are taller central strikers.

Do you mean Bilbao and not Balboa? I am not sure Adrian is Bosque, so I can't see him going to Bilbao if he isn't. Of course, i could be wrong.

Do you mean Basque and not Vicente del Bosque? Adrian is indeed not Bosque, and has never won the Champions League, Euros and World Cup. I can't see him coaching anybody soon. Of course, I could be wrong.

I said the same about Jese and Morata. Very good young players who won't get a chance at RM

Adrian was always a shy person before falling in love with and marrying Rocky. Her meek demeanor began to wear off after the birth of their only son, and although she has always been a crucial source of love and support for Rocky, it wasn't until later ordeals that she became a more assertive person, confidently and honestly helping Rocky cope with his oftentimes difficult feelings, and giving him the motivation to go the distance in his training, and his fights. She was always an important part of Rocky's life, in and outside of the ring. Most of the time, Rocky's heart wasn't in the right place without Adrian's advice or support.

So yeah, probably a wide forward in a 433.
Oh hahaha. It's soooo much fun to be called Yo, Adrienne

If you were SpurinPhilidelphia you wouldn't be asking.

Do you mean SpurinPhiladelphia and not SpurinPhilidelphia? I am not sure SpurinPhilidelphia is a Philistine or Filipino, so I can't see him speaking Lydian or Tagalog. Of course, i could be wrong.

Couldn't help it. I am an absurdest by nature and a cuckold* by my wife's insistence.

Didn't we have a Spurs in Philadelphia at one point? Or was that my SO days?

*sadly Houdini would be the only poster impressed by my use of cuckold and he doesn't read this thread. And I'm the only one that would be impressed by knowledge of Lydian linguistic linkage** in respect to Philistine.

** but Warren Zevon would be impressed by that alliteration***.

*** but SS57 is probably the smartest of us and will be impressed by my knowledge of the word alliteration****

**** but Misfit is silly enough to see the absurdity of my linking of Philistine linguistics to a Jewish club*****

***** but A&C hates Jews******.

****** I made that up and will probably get banned*******.

******* Spurrific has never used Ban or any other deodorant.

Hi Adrienne.

Don't be upset. I'm sure he didn't mean it personally.

Nah, I'm not upset. I visit this site everyday because beside the excellent information and the banter, it's also very funny!
The problem is the whole Rocky thing is just so effing old!!
I hate Sylvester Stallone... all 5'4" of him for ruining my name!

Sorry. As a Luke I can empathise. I've had more people tell me they're my father than Mary Bennington.

Not that it bothers me, i'm a frickin Jedi.

I feel like I've become your new internet stalker. You account for 4 out of the last 5 funny ratings I've given. The other went to SpurinChicago for his (unwittingly?) deadpan correction of your joke.

I cannot see Levy paying a player aged 28, £150k pw. That's close to £8m a year. The minimum contract would be 3 years. That's a 24m (+ fee £5m) = £30m commitment with chance of recouping much minimal.

If he's getting 150k either Lewis is paying it (almost as unlikely) , we have a new investor or ManC are paying 50-75k a week.

I'm sorry I just don't understand why most think this is impossible(last 2-3days) Remembering that, pinch of salt are needed for ITK, expecting the itk to get all of the info 100% correct is a stretch, I mean if you just at the word equivalent to 150k PW. We all know signing on fees exists, So why can't the pack be signing on fee and wages? I don't think any of you think Levy wouldn't pay around 20mill plus 70k wages, for the "right striker" which equals a total commitment of 31 mil approx. SO why wouldn't we pay Man C 5 mil, and Abe a 10mill signing on fee(spread over 3 years) and 70k pw? (equals equivalent about 145kpw.). I agree that a stumbling block may well be age (ROCE) but i think after 2 years we would get 7-10mil for him.

I think the easiest way to think about it is..Is Abe worth a price tag of 15mill? (wage of around 70kpw) Because that is what it is going to cost us, Its just expressed differently.

for my 2 pence worth, he is worth that, Equally there may be potential better options out there with the same total cost, ones that may also offer a better potential ROCE.

He won't pay him 150k per week, no chance. What he will do though is picture a 15-20 million pound player for 5 million and then use numerous clever means (signing on fees etc) to make up the difference in the wages, hence the haggling over the transfer fee because after all that is going to pay those wages. Ultimately, Ade's is a fairly unique situation, we will be buying a player for way, way below his actual worth. Levy is a born haggler, but he also knows a good deal when he sees one.

Glad to see someone else understands it
