So dumb to sell Chiriches at this point. One solid year here and he'd be worth double what we could get now. The signs were there that he could be a really effective ball-playing CB in the Premier League. Selling him now is just weird and seems totally against what Levy would normally do.

Maybe he made a comment about one of the boards, wives, daughters.

Honestly I never understand any of our transfer policies.

We'd be mad to sell Chiriches with Kaboul perma-crocked, Dawson struggling with the high line and Verts' suitcase packed for Barca.

At this rate we'll have to buy 4 new senior CBs in the next 5 weeks!
According to Gards Kaboul is ok and should get somewhere near to the player we know with a full pre-season. Can't remember if it was Gards, JJ or Stobart that said it, but appearently Kabouls had pain similar to what Ledley had in his knee, that didn't go away until May, so we should have a different player to what we saw last year. I don't think Barca want Verts now with them signing Mathieu. It would still be mental to sell Vlad though.

Well nothing like a good transfer deadline day to get the pulse racing is there? Plenty of activity, two defenders out, three in...love it.

Then I remember we're three games into the season, conceded ten goals already and are about to blood a new defensive unit who've had no pre season together...great lol

I wonder if we are going to sign Schneirderlin and convert Capoue into a centre back; he reminds me a bit of Rio Ferdinand and he has the awareness to play that role I feel.
All the ITK's have been unanimous in that Schneiderlin will only be brought in if Sandro leaves. We are in talks with him (as are Arsenal) so maybe Sandro's transfer out is further along than we know.

Even if we are looking for a centre back; I hope the ITK about Vlad isn't true as Vlad can fill in at right back, left back and in midfield and even as a central midfielder in my opinion. He's that talented and he reminds me a bit of David Luiz.

Maybe I'm just insane, but my understanding of Pochettino's philosophy would make Chiriches a perfect fit. If there's a 'more to this' line it's nonsense imo, if we can keep Lloris and Vertonghen then certainly can keep Vlad.

As long as the other chairmen are wearing a tie shouldn't be an issue.....we'll end up with John O'Shea, Wes Brown, Josef Yobo, Mark Wilson and Chimbonda....simples

I thought you was trying to big Vlad up??

Really? I thought he was running around like he had his pants round his ankles and his laces tied together when he filled in at centre-back last season. Absolutely woeful.

I really wish I could believe Kaboul is ok and will be back to best, starting 90% of PL but I really can't. I hope, as if that was case in him and Vertonghen we'd have a sensational pairing. I feel very nervous if we are replacing Daws and Vlad with I'm assuming a first choice and a kid (albeit a highly rated one).

Gonna need a LB if Rose huffs off, another good CB (can't rely on Kaboul's fitness) who is pacey - verts/chiri are not quick and kaboul has lost some of his sharpness since injury.

Maybe an upgrade on Naughton as well. I know he was ok last night but I simply don't think he's good enough for where we want to be, he lacks concentration and positional sense, yes poch could do some work on him, but there's just something missing for me with this player.

If BD got injured I'd be uncomfortable with him in his place.

Also, will poch dig chiri? We are gonna play a wicked high line with the fullbacks split very wide and there's a lot of vulnerability in doing that and we have to make sure we have the necessary pace and nous to recover effectively on counters and when caught short.

Anyway, interested to see what poch thinks/does.

I freak myself out sometimes.

How anyone can even possibly predict that in advance, I don't know. Totally speculative, particularly after comparing his knee pain to Ledley's.

Not bashing, but be interested to see Gards' track record. He seems to post a lot of 'safe' posts.

If it is Daws & Vlad out and Vlaar and Lascelles in, it seems a step backwards to me.
I absolutely trust poch to sort the defense out. Happy to leave him to it...unless he does something mad mad and brings in Titus Bramble.

I really like Vlad and feel he will continue to improve. I also feel that his height will become less of an issue as the way the game seems to evolving, I believe reading the game and getting in clean and well timed tackles (rather than clattering an opponent) and being agile is becoming way more important than being an absolute tank.

My eyes have told me that for the past 2 years Kaboul has degenerated into a sunday league player. To me he effectively retired as a top level player on the pitch against City.

All the ITK has said 1 has to leave. Very few have mentioned Sandro. Dembele, Paulinho or Capoue just as likely I'd say.

I also think Poch will want to watch all 4 of them before deciding, and only Capoue has really been around so far with MD and P on holiday and Sandro's illness.

I dunno whether you're 9, drunk, on the troll, a comedy genius or deadly serious...or all of those...and quite frankly, I don't care, because you crack.me.the.fuck.up. :D

Don't lie, you'd back Poch even if he brought Sol Campbell back into central defence.

Too far?
