I would agree with the sentiment that AVB provides a long term solution. New training ground and young attractive playing players will want to come and play for him. Also we will get to see what he can piece together in his preferred 433.

As of right now:
Friedel
Walker kaboul Verts Afro
Sandro VDV Parker
Lennon Defoe Bale

The reason I put Verts in is because ITK is suggesting it is finished. Ade would replace Defoe if we can get him back. VDV would play the modric role since Rat Face is all but gone.

Another fella on COYS has heard its definitely Rafa from his cousin's uncles friend's dog or something. Wonder how much the odds on Rafa will be slashed after this?

Lets give the guy a chance and then slaughter him if no good
No. The proper order of events if he's successful is

1. Light him on fire
2. Piss and moan
3. Wait til dead
4. Deny hating his appointment to the post
5. Claim indifference
6. Bring up HR's glowing record as Kuwaiti Nat'l Manager
7. Post funny gif
8. Bitch about Levy being a tight wad
9. Give backhanded compliment to new manager
10. Lie and hope no one remembers your initial stance

Or if he fails

1. Gloat
2. Gloat
3. Gloat
4. Gloat
5. Gloat
6. Gloat
7. Post funny gif
8. Gloat
9. Gloat
10. Gloat

I work in construction. It's not unusual for most commercial projects of that nature to overrun their programmes. 9 times out of 10 due to the Client making changes/not really knowing what they want!
More likely that they've hit Practical Completion on the construction. Fit out etc will still be ongoing.

I would argue its because he can fit in with the clubs long term view of gradual development to establish ourselves at the top. AVB would want to bring in young, hungry players from all over Europe. Harry wanted to bring in old pros on frees with no potential development nor price appreciation.

Moving into a new training complex where we'll build up our academy and eventually into a new amazing stadium, we want to be growing as a club, not setting out with only a one season target which ultimately was how harry viewed our club.

I can understand the potential development but lets be honest how long has it taken us to make in roads into the top 4 and come reasonably close to mounting a title challenge, for then just set ourselves back years by bringing in someone who has shown he was not up to the job in the premier league and watching while all the other teams vying for that top four slot will strengthening their squads, while we have a project thats going to take to long to come to fruition.

I have been quite happy watching my beloved team dine at the top end of the table and i do not want to see us going backwards with a guy who has shown he has not got a clue in the premier league.

If it's Rafa I'm going to start watching more cricket.

I wouldn't worry. It was literally his mate's mate's uncle's taxi driver had heard it from an Evening Standard journalist.

There's bollocks, then there's Über-bollocks.

What's Brownhead's record like generally ?

I gave up keeping close tabs on ITK about three years ago, so if I say my recollection is that it's been less than brilliant I could be doing him a disservice. I don't think I am, though. I do recall that the source for his first bit of ITK three-four years ago was a pal of his in the Academy; I remember this because it was just after the club had threatened anyone who leaked info with instant dismissal, and I warned Brownhead it probably wasn't the brightest of ideas to splatter his source all over a public forum. I don't know who his source is now, but I assume it isn't some academy kid.

I would find it difficult to like Benitez

What if he teams up with Paddy McGuinness for a new series of Max and Paddy?

I find it difficult to believe Levy would let bygones be bygones, but perhaps they'll make up over a glass of agreeable sherry. Or perhaps they won't.
