So more strong suggestions from Trix that despite media clamour for Batshuayi and Afobe, Berahino is still the number one choice. I'm actually not against that, Poch and co obviously firmly believed he was the right fit for us, and still believe so.
Interesting to see Fazio and Townsend being mooted as outgoing to cover the fee. No talk of a CB incoming, so must assume there's belief Velkjovic and/or Carter-Vickers are ready to step up.
Some belief Shilow Tracey will be signed up also, a significant pool of talent looming on the horizon, largely an English core there. With the new stadium, a talented squad being assembled to be ready for it.

Also IIRC he was shown around our training ground etc and chose them. I don't rate him and don't want him ( too injury prone). There are other players out there who would run through walls to join us and they are the ones I hope we will bring in.
IIRC didn't AVB decide he wanted Soldado and not Benteke? Benteke chose Liverpool two years later....

It looks like CCV could be ahead of Fazio, but isn't Velkjovic looking to get away, and unlikely ever to play for the first team?

We really should be looking at Batshuayi instead, (I'm sure we've had ITK on him at some point)

Took too long to decide. Levy was keen, but AVB not convinced. Benteke set a deadline on moving himself because he wanted to focus on the season to make sure he made the Belgian WC squad.

I was unsure. Got the impression Velkjovic was being semi frozen out due to the fact he wouldn't sign a new deal, but wondered if his reluctance was down to looking for first team opportunities. With the ITK Fazio is looking increasingly likely to leave, this opening up an opportunity within the 1st team squad, I wondered if he may be more inclined to sign a new deal and return to the fold.

So here we are again.

In a good(ish) position to get a Champion's League spot and in need of a striker.

Your move, Levy
I'm not sure buying a 'reserve' striker is really going to make a difference is it? Kane plays if fit, his injury record suggests he should, fingers crossed do that, so we are essentially buying a back up for the rest of the season? If you could buy a shot hot striker and put Kane in the No10 role in some games then that would be a different matter

Windy said the other day that we've offered Velkjovic a big new contract. However part of the deal was a loan to Brentford for the rest of the season.

So either way it's like to be 2CV who steps up to 4th CB

Exactly. We're likely dead in the water without Kane regardless of who we sign. Very few teams can lose their top player and not fall off.

What a strange attitude. So we shouldn't bother signing another top quality striker if we can because we already have a very good one.

Sure Benteke said he wouldn't sign for Spurs because we messed him round also. Berahino will probably be on the list of spurned lovers also soon...

So Benteke has been offered to us says The Goat.

As what may I ask? A sacrifice.

Goat? Sacrifice?

Maybe getting my analogies a tad mixed up.

Right now. Lukaku has scored 8 in a row. Ageuro has scored in only 2 games the whole season. Kane been great but lukaku more goals. Vardy yes you could argue
"Could argue", well if the amount in a row is your measurement Vardy just broke the record this year, so it's Vardy then.
