If there are 2 bits of info I'd have to guess you can rule out Poch leaving as the bad thing, as the good thing is likely an incoming player and a player isn't going to come to this mess if Poch is walking.

Two different itk's though. One or both could be wrong.

All speculation. Whatever it is we'll get over it.

A&C posted a smiley when he hinted at a meltdown. Might even be levy resigning. Who knows?

That would have cause a 'premature' issue that prevented his pearl harbour performance so I doubt it.

Well, in all my years on SC, I've seen a few emotional meltdowns, but this is borderline surreal... Seeing a meltdown about a potential meltdown. Meta ITK?

Have just caught up, and will proffer a guess with the last wee snippet from A&C in mind.

Bad - a player leaving that we really don't want to leave. But it will be for big money. Or Toby isn't signing a new contract

Good - a very enticing player will be joining which will slightly help to offset the bad news. Maybe not in the same position as the departing player. Or Toby has signed a new contract.

That may seem vague but kind of suits what has been said.
Would guess the outgoing player would be from - Hugo, Rose, Toby, Dier, Lamela, Eriksen, Ali. Any of those players leaving would potentially cause meltdowns of a variety of sizes. Perhaps Lamela being one of the smallest and Ali or Eriksen the biggest. Can't see it being Kane, Son, Wanyama, Vertonghen, Dembele or Winks for a variety of reasons. Maybe Dembele at a push.

Big money comes in and we use it to get a player that is commonly regarded as being potentially great amongst most of the forum. That would eliminate Josh King. Previous mention of Kovacic would be the correct ballpark

Maybe the annual rumour of us getting bought out has arrived...

Bad: Kane leaves for Madrid
Good: Morata incoming in exchange

I don't care if Morata came in and scored 25+ goals for us, that would be an unmitigated disaster for us and I do not believe that it is a viable possibility.

Kane is the totem pole and emblematic of everything this club currently stands for. It would seriously have to a be an offer of over 150m or commensurate to that in order for it to be even a remote possibility ( Morata AND 70m ).

Keep in mind the astronomical rise in revenue from the TV deals. Players and their agents know about this and will expect some of those increased revenues to eventually trickle down to their pay packets.

The way a player and agent will see it is that if £50m is the new £30m in terms of transfer fees then wages of £100k/wk are the new £75k/wk.

Thus far it seems that Levy isn't buying into these new economics or at least we aren't hearing of him doing so.

Not so hard to think that the players would be frustrated with it, club is bringing in more money than ever before players will want their cut of it. Honestly i am more surprised that we have had so few pieces of ITK saying that the players want more money.

unfortunately the old £400 mil NPD, after brexit is now £800 mil

players take in the increases for the pluses but are deft when it comes to minuses.

the players that signed new deals last season, all knew about the extra money coming in, they also know that 5 teams above us guarantee higher wages, the trouble now is the 14 teams below now have the money to increase their wage bills plus Everton are increasing theirs on the back of knowing they have a richer owner now and are in the region of getting in over £100 mil for 2 players, so are able to factor in increasing wages.

the thing is the top 5 above us in the financial tables until next season all have bigger stadiums, bigger sponsorships, bigger world wide following and bigger merchandise sales, so if they have a bad season or 3 it doesn't hit them. for us if Levy was to give a much higher wage structure, if the players fail to deliver over the next 3-5 years it would hurt us badly
