Not even that, but it's Top-tier moronic reporting.

Imagine being a reporter who can't read.

Here's Mick Dennis saying what he'd do.. and Matt Law STILL defending his colleagues

I think he's right, fwiw. You don't have to report everything and this has not helped the relationship between team (and fans) and the media following them.

It's an interesting snapshot of how social media has altered ideas that have been part of the print media for decades. Personally I think it's fair game. They are there to report the news as opposed to being cheerleaders for the team. I find this far more acceptable than the prurient interest in the private lives of sportsmen and women.

Glad that Southgate bought that up, this is just an example of what's been going on for years with the press and England team, it's not just about the team sheet selection as loads of journo's seem to be completely missing the point, the point is that they ALWAYS do this, they are the first to stir up shit when it comes to England and turn the country against them, however minor this is the point still needed to be made.

Wasn't this photo taken when they were invited into the training camp?

You invite the press, they are going to snoop around in an inconvenient fashion. It goes with the territory. On the plus side, they won't be making that mistake again! Notes will be under lock and key. It's rather like when Roy Hodgson let some random guy on the tube know that he wouldn't be picking Rio Ferdinand. I bet he kept his trap shut on the tube after that.

Nice to see the England squad enjoying themselves. Very impressed with Southgate off the pitch. I hope he gets his tactics right on it as I don't want to see him crucified by the press at the end of the tournament.

Hated his appointment but he's grown on me. He's done with this squad what I (and I'm guessing a fair few others) wanted Roy to do at Euro 2016 and given the youths a chance to show what they can do.

I think this fella summed up Southgate perfectly...

Perhaps I expect people to show a little decorum or to behave in an honourable fashion. Not bite the hand that's tried to help you.they certainly won't do it again, by hopefully barring the dick responsible.

It's their job to hunt out the news. The person concerned found it. He did his job. I'm not sure that the reaction is remotely proportionate to the action.

I'm obviously out of touch with the current zeitgeist. Thank goodness though as folk are wetting themselves over nothing.

People are thankfully by and large waking up to the fact that a zoom-lensed paparazzi style "revelation" doesn't deserve to be treated as anything else than an invasion of privacy.

And that the red top media in general does more to harm the England national side than help it.

@chavkev I get what you are saying. But there's a difference in how you do it. Like taking the photo from outside the complex using a super zoom or whatever. To being invited in and pissing on the hospitality. It is minor, but it is the principle more than anything, with a backdrop of the strange agenda of trying to undermine our own national team.
