Well done England and Gareth Southgate. There were a lot of doommongers saying that we wouldn't even get out of the group so it's great to see us progress after two games.

Still can’t score in August.

One World Cup Wonder.

Proving the doubters wrong every chance he gets.

Fuck me, were there?! I avoided the build up so I didn't really read people's thoughts. I am extremely cynical when it comes to England but even I thought we'd get out of the group as Tunisia and Panama are poor opposition!

The ridiculous thing now is that, due to other historically strong teams performing poorly in their groups, I think England have a great chance of reaching the semi finals IF they finish 2nd in the group. Which is nuts!

I've got:

Group Winner: Colombia, Germany, Spain to reach the final
Runner Up: Poland, Mexico, Croatia to reach the final

Social media has ruined international football support. Amongst the plenty of shit I’ve seen today, some of the comments were that Harry did fuck all apart from score a hatrick and isn’t a good captain etc. Imagine if we had social media when Lineker scored his hatrick.... or Hurst even... you just know that other teams’ fans would find a way of slating the player just because he plays for a team they don’t like. ****s.

Yes Kane didn’t do much aside from score, but 5 goals in 2 games to do what he’s paid to do and people still complain. Sometimes I yearn for a life without social media so know-nothing shit****s can’t get their views across to the rest of the world.

Yet still there you are, on there, trawling for ****s. You love it, you twitterwhore :D

? Ah see the difference is, I hardly ever use twitter and can easily live without it (fb not so much...). But even if I didn’t use it, I still know it’s being used by wankers who would never normally have a platform. It’s like TalkSport, even if I never listened to it, I know there are vulnerable youngsters and opposing supporters believing everything Durham and Cundy and White have to say and that scares the **** out of me!

I feel it’s partly my job to bring reasoning into replies.... unless I’m dealing with Liverpool or West Ham supporters then I just cyber knee them in their cocks.

It's happening lads.

I dunno. I want to see us play against a side that tests our defence before I start to believe we can go far. The Belgium game should be a test. That back three gives me the jitters. If I was a good side, I would be targeting Maguire and Young on our left flank.

I said pretty much word for word in the pub. Just have a good feeling though.

State of their fan base.

I came in this thread simply to post something along the same lines. Gary Taphouse (sky commentator) has retweeted one guy who seems to be obsessed with the captaincy issue:

https://twitter.com/triggs35/status/1010955536941158400?s=21

https://twitter.com/triggs35/status/1010943902092800000?s=21

https://twitter.com/triggs35/status/1010881728188215298?s=21

Every one of those (and a couple I didn’t copy over) was tweeted AFTER he scored a hat-trick today. Every pundit says Kane is a superstar and his teammates say he’s vocal and a leader in the dressing room, but Liverpool fan Glen says ‘he doesn’t have it in him’ - after scoring 5 goals in two games.

Beyond parody.

I think the good team will target the space behind the fullbacks. We look very suspect there.

But if we attack well and get Dele back we could do well.

I thought the same thing, but I see it as a positive. Once he gets the service he'll really start to terrify the opposition. Three in just over an hour isn't bad though is it?

As for him not being a good captain every time an England player is interviewed they say how vocal he is, how he's a great leader and how happy they are with him as captain.

Young used to be quite good although a diver. Playing under Maureen for 2 years has turned him always going backwards.

Young is a very good player.

Rose is just that bit better. And left footed which will give England much better balance.

He's not good anymore. For a game and a half, he played shit at LB. And for half of today's game, he was equally shit at RB.
