Telegraph reporting Dier could replace Alli for the next match. I fucking hope not.

Good lord i hope not. Dier takes so long to control the ball and get his head up, he's capable of the forward pass but by the time hes ready the option has gone. Cannot see us scoring if he goes for this.

I think he's in there to help out with set pieces and the aerial threat. We only really have Maguire, Kane, and Stones as the big men at the back for corners.

Got a weird feeling about today’s game. It’s kind of a win/win no matter how it ends. For obvious reasons I want Sweden to win and to reach the semi finals would be beyond amazing. At the same time, even if we lose, we still would have had a fantastic World Cup and it certainly would be pretty nice to see our English players go really far.

I don't get the whole "It's coming home" thing, modern football came from Scotland, are people just saying that phrase because it's a line in a catchy song from Euro96.

After 150 years the truth: Scotland invented football

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...truth-scotland-invented-football-8756018.html

First the SNP and now this.

Pleasing to know the reason it was invented is because they're too weedy to compete at other sports:

"Scots, being generally smaller than their opponents in football's oldest international rivalry, could hardly afford to take them on physically"

I'm seeing it a bit more win-lose but like your sentiment!

I think Sweden have been great and they have always been a bit of a bogey team for England ???????, so anything could happen.

As a fellow Spur I wish your team the very best, but as an England supporter I hope England win and Kane scores one or two more to virtually guarantee the golden boot and put England into a semi final for the first time since 1990.

Here’s hoping for a good game and may the best team win.

I think England will go through today, in fact I can see them getting to the final ( beating Russia in the semis), but it's not going to be a game for the purists today, it will be damn ugly and nervous.

I really cannot see England beating either France or Belgium though

I want you to get whacked 8-0.

Think this is the most tense and excited about an England match I’ve been in about 20 years

I was way more tense before Colombia. Not sure why because i think it'll be just as close a game.

Yep, got myself all hyped up by watching crowd reactions to the goals on Tuesday.

I was in my local working mans club for that one, it was such an excellent atmosphere. Whole place cheered Kane before the match-arsenal fans, Chelsea fans, etc, the whole lot of them :)

Was mental when we scored and when we won

Got a bloody family bbq today so should be good but won’t be as good
