Hello everyone. I hope this is cool posting this here. We'd like every Spurs fan to know about the The Fighting Cock Podcast. Please read the bumpf and have a listen. It's taken a massive effort to get to this point so please enjoy!

Welcome to the first ever 'The Fighting Cock' podcast. The recording went very well all things considered (had to change location twice at the last minute. We rolled with the punches and imperfections. Ghost ice cream van included). 90 mins of chat cut down to about 45 mins for the released version. We hope to have a more peaceful setting next time.
In terms of tempo, vibe and humour...we won't truly hit out stride until after a few eps so a bit of Tottenham supporting patience please (gulp) although I think we did mighty fine with our debut effort considering it was recorded in a greenhouse.
We've got a whole host of content and features lined up for future eps, along with some 'squad rotation' in terms of people guesting. The plan is to record a pod every 10 days. You'll be able listen to it here on DML via your browser (Quicktime plug-in required) or simply download and listen at your pleasure.
It can take between two days or two weeks before it appears in iTunes so patience all Apple fanboys and girls.
Check out The FC Podcast on Facebook for feedback and suggestions as well as one or two polls that we'll fire up over the up and coming weeks (including 'Prick of the Week').
If you want something read out or discussed on a future ep, please email us at thefightingcock at gmail dot com.
Love the Shirt.

Flav, tehTrunk, Spooky, Ricky, Chicago Dan.

I listened to 20 mins then skipped through the rest

Full marks for trying, but, in my humble opinion, there was a desperate deficit of insight, wit or wisdom.

Sorry for the grammar lesson, but if you are going to make a thread like this you need to be more careful with the formatting:

Fighting cock's = the podcast of the Fighting Cock

Fichting cocks = two willies having a fight:eek:mg::eek:mg::eek:mg:

I like Spooky. I like tehTrunk. I'm not sure if I'll like this.

Hearing people's voices after reading them for so long is such a tricky one. It can either cement a reader/writer relationship or ruin it forever. Will listen at some point and give some feedback, Flav.

Its hard enough reading some "people's" views of Spurs and football in gernal without having to listen to it, not for me, a forum is far, far, far more inveractive.

I agree. I think you write as if you have authority, but having actually listened to you I now read all of your posts in a really high pitched girls voice.

OK, I've listened to half of the second one, and I expect you're all 'top top' chaps but any Spurs fan that truly thinks:

"I don't want to sign players like Gallas and Adebayor because they're taking away from the reasons I support Spurs / I don't want to sacrifice that for a few extra points a season" (or words to that effect)

... sorry, that's tosh.

That said - and I know that's just my opinion - I appreciate the amount of effort you guys have to go to record it and all meet in one place etc. - we thought about doing one on here but just could never see a point where a good number of us could meet up regularly and get it done. So massive plaudits for that - I expect content will get better, and it's good that you have varying viewpoints. They just all seem a bit anti-establishment for me, and that's why I'll stick to Scott and Dave of Cock On Ball fame.

Very rarely listen to this one, more of a fan of The Spurs Show with some older heads (sorry!)

BUT...according to their Twitter on tonight's podcast is Troy Townsend, father of Andros. So might be worth a listen for those that want to know a bit more about why he went on loan and his future with Spurs.

I've been listening to the Fighting Cock podcasts for a few months now, I find it far more enjoyable than the Spurs show. On the SS whenever there's a guest they keep talking over them. When Cornwell did that interview with King he wouldn't let him speak, ruined what could have been a good show. I haven't listened to the Spurs Show in a while but there was some guy with a really rough voice who kept annoying me. Are they still doing that awful AVB impression?

There's a segment in every show where they have a youth update from 'Windy' who goes to a lot of youth/reserve games. Each show is at least an hour long, they can cover a lot more ground in that time.

I really like the 'Fighting Cock' and 'Ooh when the Spurs' podcasts. Both pragmatic, positive and funny. The Spurs Show just made me want to shoot myself so I canned it!

Also downloaded the Journey Begins EP by Engineer Al, it's pretty damn good!

I like it :)! As an American Tottenham supporter it's very difficult to get together with other supporters. This podcasts makes me feel like I'm sitting in a pub having a chat with some good friends about my team!

I listen to this podcast all the time. :)

Reading the comments from 2011 in this thread were a bit harsh.

I listen to this podcast most weeks, I really enjoy it. It's funny, they have some guests on now and then. Overall they give a very good review of whats going on with us.
