Totally Vettel's doing for me.
He cut across from number 1 pole because Verstappen had a better start. Neither realised how good Kimi's start was.
Vettel tried to force Verstappen over therefore into Raikenen.
Vettel should, IMHO, get a grid penalty in the next race.

Glad to see the Ferraris out. How anyone can blame anyone but Vettel for that is beyond me. He ubbecesssrily swings across the track to try to scare Verstappen and causes the accident

Yes however not a fan of Vettel and he may have 'caused' the incident but you can't really blame him trying to squeeze Verstappen and he didn't know that Kimi was coming up on the inside. If anything you need to point the finger at Ferrari for their shitty starting strategy, surely they would have spoken about Kimi coming up on the inside and surely Vettel would have known about it, poor communication if anything.

I disagree, he has a habit of doing it unnecessarily. He has to leave Verstappen space or he would get penalised.

There is a rule which says that he has to leave him a car's width and thy he cannot just push him off the track

Which is what be did...the problem was that no one expected Kimi coming up on his inside, there wasn't anything illegal about that move in my mind.

Vettel just doesn't have the awareness that people like Hamilton and Alonso have. I must admit that I'm a Hamilton fan and think Vettel is a whining git, but the only salvage I could take from qualifying is that I realised that with Vestappen up there, anything could happen as he doesn't pull out of anything (and is often overly aggressive). If I knew that, why didn't Vettel? Will go down as a racing incident, but Vettel's poor judgement just cost him the title.

I posted this ages ago, but I still think Vettel needs to grow that moustache and embrace his evil alter ego

Is it me or is this American big entrance smoke and cheerleaders thing the absolute most cringe worthy start to a race ever??

:arghh: There is something seriously wrong when the most interesting part of the race is the virtual safety car.

At least it was a competitive race. I want to see competition... not 2 drivers from the same teaming getting 1-2 finishes.

Unfortunately, I fear that's what this season will be. Mercedes definitely had a pace advantage over Ferrari but were unlucky with the safety car. Unless Ferrari has something up their sleeve or Mercedes suffers a string of errors I can't see anything other than a season that's a Hamilton coronation. I hope I'm wrong as I need a competitive title race to keep me distracted from the mess that is Williams.

I think we need to do away with the "podium" and follow how is done at NASCAR. Can tell that Lewis and Kimi really didn't want to be there. Unless it's a shock result... 2nd and 3rd is pretty meaningless.

Of course Ricardo will be ecstatic if he manages to get 3rd. Lol

I am hopeful for Ferrari and Red Bull. But take nothing away from Lewis... He is a driver who knows how to get the best out of his car.

I've no foot in any particular F1 camp so whomever wins is irrelevant to me but to be able to go from 3rd to 1st under a virtual safety car is ridiculous.

Can't be worst then crash-gate. It's a sport. Luck plays a factor.

I hope they don't get rid of the podium as it's great for the drivers and teams who don't usually finish in the top three. Plus, I'm not a Hamilton fan so I like seeing him stood on 2nd or 3rd looking grumpy.

I hope Ferrari and Red Bull can step up but I fear Hamilton and Mercedes are just too good. Vettel's a good driver but he needs his car to be at its best in order to deliver results. He's not a Hamilton or an Alonso who can deliver with a car that isn't perfect.

Is it just that me that is hoping McLaren can get their car working well enough for Alonso to be involved in some scraps with the big 3 teams? Brilliant racer!!

Good to see Williams' decision to go for two newbies over the likes of Kubica, Wehrlein and di Resta is paying off. :cautious:
