I don't think Gomes mistakes were that bad though.

I thought Cech had a terrible season for his past standards, and even VDS made some really bad fuck ups.

Cech for me made some of the worst, and he was competely at blame for his country getting knocked out of the Euro's. Fair play to him though, he came out, took it on the shoulders well enough.

I'm not sure Harry has decided who his first choice is for this season

He did come across as a really nice fella when I bumped into him the other week at Aldershot. Came over to the stand and ruffled my little boys hair, shoock my hand, had his picture with another kid in our party and signed for autographs - all during the warm up.

Top bloke, seemed geniunely nice.

And on top of that, he is a bloody good goalkeeper!

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on that one, don't make me list all those goals he should've stopped early in the season again

If you can name me more than 3 and provide a full run down on why they were his fault i'd be shocked.

He definitley looked shaky for a while and kept knocking over his defenders and spilled a few balls.

But actual mistakes that led directly to goals, there weren't that many.

Plus it's a bit harsh laying it all the keeper like you did, when the rest of the team were equally as piss poor until Ramos was outed.

Hmm, I don't want to get dragged into it again. I've listed some already.

Directly, the Udinese one. You can't claim BAE's passback was poor, it was to Gomes' favoured foot and he had ample time. He then dragged the guy down, penalty, goal.

Diving over ashley young's shot for villa to go 1-0 up

Slapping the ball into his own net against fulham

Shut up you little turd, you're the biggest fool on here.

I wasn't wrong, he was hopeless for the first few months and there are a good few that agree with me, just as many as those that don't.

His recent performances have impressed me. I never agreed with those calling for him to play though :-D

Gomes - He was an absolute clown, a joke of a player until Parks came in. He's completely changed his game to the point where he's not that same keeper that was at PSV that I predicted would get found out in the PL... he needed to.

Modric - Redknapp putting him out on the left was a masterstroke.

Modric hardly played as LMF before Spurs bought him - his reputation was as a CMF. And when given the chance to play CMF he´s done really well for Spurs. Playing him on the left was not a masterstroke but more like a need because Spurs did not have a LMF.
You may not be aware of it but MOST player take time to adjust to a new country/club and with very few exceptions no over seas players have turned into instants hits in any PL club.
Henry, Drogba, Essien etc etc all needed time.

Regardless of whether you are right or wrong...you win the argument with that one

I refuse to be shouted down by pipsqueak c0le, who reckons we should sell Woodgate, use the money to buy Kaboul back, play Dawson as a defensive midfielder and buy Zamora as our target man.

You win doubly with the use of the word pipsqueek

That coupled with the fact that he has the MOST ANNOYING SIGNATURE EVER!!!!

I do, week in week out in come wind, rain, snow ice and any crap results or shit games and have done for over forty years.
Doesn't change my opinion though and that is that the ballance between his strengths and his weaknesses is a fine ballance.

Great player. Great bloke. Least of our worries.

Good player, great bloke maybe.

Good post.

I am backing our players, I support them when they're on the pitch and have never heckled at games. But just because a player is wearing our shirt doesn't mean we lose the right to criticise when (in our own opinion) a player is not playing well and is having a detrimental effect on the team and results. This is what I believe Gomes was doing in the early part of his Spurs career and he has changed elements of his game to suit this league more and to improve and pollish his overall game.

That's still only 3, i'll conceed he made a few mistakes, but you were way too harsh on him IMO and also blamed him for a lot more than just his mistakes.

Anyway not worth getting back into this too much, suffice to say he's now doing what we all hoped he was capable of when he signed.

Sorry dude, I misread your post, thought you only asked for 3

I could list more, like the one where he decided to take Jenas' head off instead of going for the ball, gifting Arsenal an equaliser at the Degenerates ;-)
