I think you're overstating the importance of the HG rule and the need for Trippier to remain with us. We didn't suffer as a result of it this past season, we swapped out GKN for Lamela and omitted Janssen. If we sell Trippier, we can replace him with Onomah and even add CCV or if past rumors are to be believed, James Maddison from Norwich.

Simply put, we'll have an easier time selling Trippier, making a significant profit from his sale and also improving the team in other areas. Plus, Aurier and KWP have the potential to better than Kieran. Serge is 25, technically solid, uber athletic and is still yet to go through a Poch pre-season. If anyone can improve Aurier and help tap into his full potential, it's Poch.
You're dreaming if you think Onomah and Carter-Vickers, who are reasonable Championship players at best, will be with our first team next season.

Thanks. That was my thoughts too when I saw the length.

Not sure which of the existing RB's should go though.. I don't rate Trippier super highly but then again Aurier, despite looking to have most of the ingredients of a decent fullback, has arguably dropped enough bollocks for 3 seasons in his one so far.
i was thinking about this too.

Trippier has probably reached his ceiling, and would be able to fetch a nice fee.

Aurier is younger, and could improve further during his 2nd season with us.

I see KWP as our #1 RB, so I'd probably keep Serge as the backup and cash in on Tripps.

TAA in the WC squad must make kids like KWP feel two things:

1) Pissed for not getting a chance to show what he has got
2) Motivated

Probably a 80/20 slit in favor of #1.

Could be KWP there if Poch had the balls to put him in over Serge or Tripps.

Onomah compared to Lewis Cook is also an interesting one. Last summer for the U20 team Onomah was the superior player in the cm2 in basically all aspects of the game. One year later, whatever has gone wrong, the superior looking one has had a wasted season whilst the other is on standby for the world cup. How quickly things can change.....

Could also be all of us after Poch's skin had we missed top 4 and KWP not lived up to expectation.

I get that. I truly believe that he would have errors if given the Serge minutes. But I also believe he would have allowed us to play more expansive football and been a bit more subdued in the tackle than Serge.

For me its sell Serge and keep a rotation of KWP and Tripps. They might be smaller, but the delivery of the latter makes him more of an asset then Serge IMO.

Chatting with his Uncle last week (he coaches my son), KWP’s dad is pushing hard for a loan as he wants more playing time for him.

Also, on Onomah, he doesn’t think he’ll make it at Spurs - good enough for a mid-table side but not Spurs. Shame!

That sounds about right. Should recoup a nice 15 mil for Onomah.

KWP needs game time 100% and I can't see him getting enough with us next season. A loan to Wolves ect would make sense

Aurier has that Walkeresque ability to lose concentration and charge back like a bull in a china shop....fine for chasing 94% of EPL attackers but gets found out against the Hazard's of the league. Trippier looks like he is still improving. His delivery is good but probably needs to work on upper body strength. KWP is a good prospect and I would like to see him play in our domestic cup sides. Given a choice I would move Aurier and his mate Sissoko on....but that is another story:sneaky:

Neither of you see any upside in Aurier? I think after a settling in period this year he could be very handy next season
He’s a quality player. People writing him off because he was a bit rash is hysterical. He’s a better player than Tripps with higher upside. The only RB we have who has more porential is KWP. Trippier served his purpose and then some. Sell him on now after this WC. His price will never be higher.

Not saying he's a bad player but i think trippier is better especially attacking (providing assists) and think that kwp could really push on this year and be an excellent player. Aurier can be dangerous. Also we are over the limit for non home grown players already for cl squad.
