His final ball needs a bit of work but there's a lot about him that's fantastic

Could do with beefing up a bit

Hope he gets a chance next year

His final ball is much better when he plays on the right and his balance is outstanding so can go inside or outside effortlessly.

I'd worry if he beefs up too much though as his dribbling might suffer. Physically I think he will end up like Trippier.

Agree that his dribbling skills are fantastic, especially for a full back.

Really looking forward to seeing him given a chance to establish himself in the team.

Hope he gets the number 22 next season as well as that's free :love:

Wonder what will happen if Kyle senior stays .how can we keep 3 top class RB happy .KWP is 20 now not really kid anymore think he has to get minutes this season .For me I'd keep both kyles and get rid of trips .imo KWP is more similar to trippier but will surpass him in couple years .with the 2 kyles we'd have a great combo imo

Eyes on the prize
Walker-Peters determined to help England reach U20 World Cup final at Italy's expense

Twelve months ago Kyle Walker-Peters was among a group of Young Lions who suffered semi-final heartbreak at the hands of Italy, and he is determined to ensure history does not repeat itself on Thursday.

The Tottenham Hotspur full-back represented England last year at the European U19 Championship in Germany, where they reached the last-four before suffering a 2-1 defeat to the Azzurri in Mannheim.

Their performance in the tournament ensured qualification to the U20 World Cup and 11 members of that squad have graduated to be part of Paul Simpson’s party currently pulling up trees in Korea.

And with Italy the opposition once more in another major tournament semi-final, Walker-Peters is ready to renew hostilities.
“They’ll be very, very good at defending, we played them in the semi-final of the U19 Euros and they knocked us out,” said the 20-year-old.

“Once they got the first goal, they set up a block and defended, put their bodies on the line and they have a few very good technicians and were good from set-pieces.

“So we need to be careful in giving away free-kicks, but the main thing is definitely not to concede first.

“We’re confident though, having past experiences against Italy helps and we’ve played them a few times so we know their style and what they’re all about.

“But not only that, we owe them one after last year so everyone’s going into it with something in their head after what they did to us at the Euros.”

Walker-Peters will hope to make a fourth successive start for England tomorrow.

His marauding runs from deep on the left-flank have mirrored the good work done by Jonjoe Kenny on the right and have given an already-potent England attack an important extra edge.

Walker-Peters is proud of his contribution so far.

“I’ve always played like that as a full-back, getting forward and trying to get involved in scoring and creating goals,” he added.

“It’s part of my style, I just need the strikers to be laying it off to me nearer the goal and I can score one and help us get through to the final!

“When I was younger, I played on the wing and as an attacking midfielder and when I was 16 I started playing as a full-back after showing I could defend and that’s where I’ve been ever since.

“I feel as though I’ve done well, I’ve tried to do everything I normally do at my club and make sure I work super-hard and keep running.

“That’s the philosophy at Tottenham, but I’ve managed to play well and get myself in the team which I’m very pleased about and I’m just looking forward to the semi-final now.”

England have proved incredibly popular in Korea, coach Simpson referring to Jeonju – the city in which they have played three matches to date and will host their semi-final – as a ‘home away from home’.

Their whistle-stop tour of Japan before the tournament began also drew plenty of local interest – with Walker-Peters and Tottenham team-mate Josh Onomah among the most sought-after for an autograph or ‘selfie’.

“It’s been nice. We had lots of Spurs fans come to meet us in Japan and then there were more in Korea so it’s good to see fans from all over the world,” said Walker-Peters.

“The mood in the camp is good, all the boys are buzzing.

“We’re not over-hyped, everyone’s keeping it reserved and we don’t want to get too buzzy before the game.

“But other than that, everyone’s ready. We know we’ve got a massive chance to create history.”

Maybe Poch has already decided that KW has an inflated worth and KWP is ready to take his spot now.

Let's not get too carried away. KWP hasn't had a PL appearance and Walker is the best RB on the league. That said I'm sure KWP coming through and the assured performances that Trippier has been putting in will mean that Poch don't lose much sleep if Walker does go.

he's looked great in the U20's even though playing out of position. It's a pity because i really wanted to see him at RB but he gains a lot of experience from playing tournament football. One thing i've really liked is his passing ability, he has just looked very assured about himself and his passing is quick and snappy and then he looks to move up the wing to give an option to pass to. He looks quite small compared to some other players but if he has the right strength and aggression like Rose then he will be fine. If Walker does really push for a move then i won't be disappointed too much as Trippier has been very good for the last couple of seasons including a few times keeping Walker out of the team and KWP looks like he would be a perfect back up.

That performance against Mexico is incredible. I appreciate it's under 20's but you can't teach composure like that. If he can replicate that in the Premier League I'd drive walker up to Man City myself. It's almost a shame we don't have a season to bed him into the team with a few games in the Europa league and cups. If we sign anyone and he does carry on developing like that Trippier should be worried.

I am not getting carried away. The club have clearly stated that players will only leave if Poch wants them to, and with KWP waiting in the wings maybe Poch thinks the time is right to cash in a £40M asset and reinvest that money in other areas of the team. Wanyama, Dier, Alderweireld and Vertonghen provide a good platform for the WBs to attack and with Rose and KWP aggressively attacking on each flank, we will have fantastic width, pace and creativity.

Entirely hypothetical but if I could choose between:

A) Keep Walker and do not sign any new players
B) Sell Walker for £40M, promote KWP to first team squad, and spend £40M on a top drawer attacking player.

I know which option I would take.

I'm sure JJ said that we'd be buying a replacement for Walker if he left as KWP isn't ready yet.

Imo at 20 playing in an England team that's just got into World Cup final ,he should be ready .At least for lesser and cup games .Imo past 21 someone can't be viewed as kid or upcoming .This season should be about feeding him into 1st xi like winks has been .If walker stays im not sure what happens .

Great video that @thebenjamin, thanks.

Proper little terrier isn't he? Given his diminutive size and dribbling skills I would be more suited to being a winger. But no, he bites hard into tackles as well.

I'm guessing he is being "muscled up" a bit like Bale was before being properly thrown into a Premiership match.
