I thought that Leicester targeted him as a weakness - often having two down his side when he was frequently alone against them. It's a credit to the lad how well he did - really liked what I saw today and he needs to get some assurances about game time as he certainly seems no worse than Aurier defensively and more positive offensively (albeit in a very open game).

I understand this argument completely as Aurier has been underwhelming but I think we've seen the best of Trippier now but I don't think we've seen the best of Aurier.

Thats fair but I think to see the best of Aurier Poch would need to give him a long run of games and let him make mistakes with some sort of foresight that makes him a multi £m earning coach and us internet forum posters that it will be worth it / he will cut them out and improve

Tripper as someone to be rotated in with someone like KPW is far more dependable and reliable. You know what you will get and he rarely puts in a stinker

Some very good stats from KWP yesterday (Whoscored):
Rating: 8.4 Only Kane from Spurs had a higher rating. KWP was better than him but goals gets more “points”
Touches: 79 More than every player from both teams
Key passes: 2 only Lucas and Eriksen created more chances than him and Rose
Dribbles: 3 More than every player on the pitch from both teams
Aerials won: 1
Tackles: 2/2 (100% success)
Clearances: 3 Only Toby from Spurs had more
Interceptions: 3 Together with Dier the most from any Spurs player

Trippier has completed 15 dribbles all season. KWP has 4 in 2 starts

Really like KWP. He is still just a touch lightweight physically, but I think that will come with games. Crossing, running off the ball and decision making when going forward looked good, defensively pretty good too. Has to get regular football - I don't particularly want to sell Trippier or Aurier, but if one of them doesn't go then KWP needs a loan move and a good season of football.
Slip him some Whey Protein and Creatine and he should be fine. ;)

He is physically light still like mentioned, and that's obviously the reason why he hasn't played. Aurier and Trippier are strong guys. And of course he couldn't deal with for instance loads and loads of PL matching yet. But I think he showed that the answer isn't to not play him at all. There is more than meets the eye.

Still one short, and again unproven player at the top level.

Tripps has shown himself to atm give more, both offensively and defensively, to the team than Aurier. Just makes sense that if you pick one you pick Tripps.

I think you're overstating the importance of the HG rule and the need for Trippier to remain with us. We didn't suffer as a result of it this past season, we swapped out GKN for Lamela and omitted Janssen. If we sell Trippier, we can replace him with Onomah and even add CCV or if past rumors are to be believed, James Maddison from Norwich.

Simply put, we'll have an easier time selling Trippier, making a significant profit from his sale and also improving the team in other areas. Plus, Aurier and KWP have the potential to better than Kieran. Serge is 25, technically solid, uber athletic and is still yet to go through a Poch pre-season. If anyone can improve Aurier and help tap into his full potential, it's Poch.

KWP should be rotated with Aurier. Sell Trippier. He was a good servent for us but not good enough for what we need now. Plus, we could possibly get 10x what we paid for him which is a huge profit.

It's a strange one. I agree with other posters who are confounded by why hasn't had more game time. He's good with his passing, link up and build up play as we bring the ball forward from defence. Good crossing and distribution in attack, and has good pace.

I see some defensive weaknesses in terms of positioning and reading threats at set pieces, but given his age and the fact he's just been thrown into the line up cold without a run of games behind him, he's done exceptionally well. Hope he gets much more game time next season. Imo, he has the potential to be our first choice RB.

If he proves to be good enough, one of Aurier and Trippier will miss out regularly and will be sold
I don't think that is true though, he got MOTM in the first game of the season then just an 8 min cameo in the league between then and the last game of the season.

Even in all the other comps he only got to play 1 other game at RB.

If he's not first team next season I am going on strike, he has more technical ability than half the squad. Wouldn't be surprised to see him make the move to CM later in his career as well.

I rate Trippier and Aurier has shown some potential but give KWP half a season and they will both be back ups.

I keep thinking he needs to bulk up a little ...but then I think to myself whether he is actually that much skinnier than Trippier, for example? I think KWP just has very thin arms!

Not that I'm comparing his quality to Lahm but he seems to be a similar player but with maybe even more technical ability and pace. Lahm was one of the greatest RBs (and LB and CM) ever though so even if he's only half as good that would be amazing to witness. His passing already looks to be really good and his crossing is great too.

I like the kid but he’s very weak in the tackle. Definitely needs a lot of strength and power work before he can be our first choice RB

More technical ability than Lahm??? Are you sure?

Great, I really like this kid.
Thought it might have been longer than 2021? Is that an extension or just a pay rise does anyone know?
