He's only gonna become ready if he's given more suitabe minutes. Tonight wasnt ideal but Poch was out of choices.

He did some really good stuff as well too.

I want to see KWP given more minutes and even some starts against inferior opposition.
Absolutely - but this becomes difficult when we have both Trippier & Aurier fit. They both want match time and whilst there are periods in the season when the games come thick and fast and one or the other is injured, KWP will have his chances. This seems more likely with Trippier's groin issue.

I think we have to accept young players will make (big) mistakes on occasion but it is exactly these experiences that will give them the platform to really improve over time.

He's a fantastic talent and did really really well last night to bounce back from the mistake and had a really good game for the remaining 85min. I hope he gets to shine.

Relatively decent performance, needs to be braver going forward imo. A lot of the time he gets in a forward position and looks for a simple lay off. Would like to see him for a cross or take his man on more often. Maybe even... a shot?
I agree but this will come from playing more games and building confidence.

Showed great character yesterday in a monumental game. Didn't let a poor start get to him and didn't hide.

Not sure what was going on with our players slipping over but he wasn't the only one. Just unfortunate that his slip led to a goal.

Lessons to learn but have a feeling he'll learn them. Seems a switched on lad.

I agree, and I think he’ll have learnt from Foyth’s example too, in not letting a few novice blunders dent his confidence.

Jan is as experienced as they come and he had a mare against the Gooners. Loved seeing him out there and hoping it's not too far down the track he makes that RB slot his own.

Even if he is a bit shaky I’d still prefer to see him playing more.

Trippier has been defensively shaky this season and has most probably reached his ceiling and Aurier can also be a little inconsistent (although has had more good than bad games this season) but KWP needs that game time to up his game and improve.

Not sure what can be done about his smaller frame though as he’s not gonna grow anymore at his age, I guess it’s a case of trying to strengthen at gym although not at cost of putting his body out of sync.

One things for sure, we're not gonna have 3 right backs next season, one of either Trippier or Aurier will get sold as KWP just signed a new contract, think on current form it will be Trippier especially if we stick with a back four.

I hope he gets a loan in January. He is not quite ready. You can see the tools, but he needs to gain confidence and experience. He needs a run of games to get that, and, its hard to see that while Aurier and Trippier are both here.

is he not quite ready? or does he need a run of games look at Davis had a poor bit of form till he had a run of games, was KWP any worse than some of SA's appearances? Hasn't Trippier made 2 worse mistakes this year?

Yep, trippier could work if we play a back three with Sanchez covering behind him like Walker did in World Cup, but for Poch system I think really we need a bit more pace and penetration from the full backs to give us extra dimension (plus 4-2-3-1 looks to be our best system as allows us to play Eriksen / Dele / Son in tandem).

Only if we address the HG issue in other areas of the pitch. I’m not a trippier fan but that might save him unless it’s addressed.

I don't know the rules around that but I think we might be seeing 5 foreign players out the door this summer before we do anything else:

Dembele
Wanyama
Janssen
Nkoudou
Llorente

Poch is at fault, here, he always rotated his full backs and as soon as trippier/aurier got injured earlier in the season he stopped doing it

Then to be left in a situation where he has to play KWP against one of the best if not the best forward line in the world

He's at the age when you naturally stop growing up and start growing out a bit. He probably won't ever be huge, but he will thicken and make himself harder to knock out of the way.

Trouble is, we tried desperately to get rid of at least some of those you mentioned in the summer but nobody would take them, at least not at the price we were asking. We need to shift Llorente, GKN, Janssen no matter what ASAP IMO but the question is how without giving them away for free.

Do these players get any say in your plan to get rid ?
