Trouble is, we tried desperately to get rid of at least some of those you mentioned in the summer but nobody would take them, at least not at the price we were asking. We need to shift Llorente, GKN, Janssen no matter what ASAP IMO but the question is how without giving them away for free.

If Levy wants to keep Poch happy then he needs to get rid, doesn't matter how much we get for them now I feel.

Do these players get any say in your plan to get rid ?

In technical terms, yes, because they have to agree a contract with whoever the buying club is and they're perfectly within their rights to just sit their at Spurs getting paid to turn up to training but not play. However, in practical terms, it must be clear to them that they are not in our plans and none of them are on the kind of mega wages they couldn't get elsewhere so it makes no sense for them to stay. It's not a situation like e.g. Ozil who knows he's on double the money he'd get from anywhere else so he may as well just bide his time and collect his cash. GKN etc. could still go back to France and forge themselves a decent career with a mid-table side in Ligue 1 for example, Janssen could go back to the Eredivisie etc.. So it's in all of their interests to leave if they get the opportunity.

I agree, it's just that given the buying clubs know they have us basically over a barrel, they're definitely going to offer next to nothing to take them off our hands, so it's a question of whether Levy is prepared to take the loss to free up space for new non-HG signings

I read last summer we had suitors for a few of our players but because our window closed before their they were low balling when our TW was open as they knew that we'd be desperate for money to buy players.

Not sure if the transfer windows close at the same time next year.

He’s a good footballer, although his relative lack of athleticism may hold him back from being a top full back. Still time for him though.

Folks have to stop this narrative of KWP lacking athleticism. Dembele is an elite athlete, he does that to top rate fullbacks. The problem with Barcas goal was KWP glaring lack of actually playing football the last two years. He underestimated how little time he had because for some reason we have deemed it best for his development to not play.

He was taken off with 25min to go buddy.
Sorry typo! I thought he made a good contribution despite probably feeling like he wished the ground swallowed him up.
Great support also from his team mates who picked him up, Kane who had a quiet word and let him do his thing

I think it’s more that in situations/players he’s faced before he thought he had it under control. What Dembele was able to do to him was a complete shock most likely. A more experienced player would have taken the yellow. But it’s all a learning curve.

Janssen tore up the Eredivisie when he played there. I'd be surprised if there was no interest for him in Holland.

A more expierenced player plays the back pass to Lloris right away, rather than dallying on it. It's a basic mistake that you'd think he'd be extremely concious of not making due to the profile of the match.

His mistake for the goal was due to inexperience. Give him more games and he will improve and possibly be our future first choice RB.

Dembele, Llorente and Vorm are all out of contract in the summer so they're gone for free, unless someone comes in with a bid in January.

Toby's £25m release clause will be active in the summer so he'll more than likely be gone, in my opinion. Starting to get nervous about Eriksen too.

Didn't Janssen have an injury at the start of the season that affected any chance of a move? Either way, I don't think the home grown issue is going to be holding us back for too much longer now.

Thought it was a bit naive to leave 2 vs 2 so early on in the game, especially with Dembele staying up and the searing pace he has.

I actually thought it was poor at the set-piece to have Rose all the way over on the opposite corner of the pitch if he was just going to be a decoy left foot...whether that was down to Danny himself or Poch is unknown.

KWP recovered a bit from it, but we looked noticeably stronger when Sissoko went out that right side IMO. Thought it might have been too big a game for him too early in his career and think turned out to be the case.

Needs to work on his upper body as much as his genetics will allow.

Aurier and Trippier still injured. So looks like Burnley home, Arsenal and Everton away for KWP. Not the easiest but still easier than Barca away. Fingers crossed.

Agree. He is very similar in physique to Ashley Cole (1 inch shorter), it is no barrier to being top quality at FB, lung capacity (or time until lactic acid overload) is helped usually by lower muscle mass.

Dani Alves is shorter than KWP.

I think Poch has concerns about KWP. I expected him to start the cup game, so its weird to see him give Trippier, who's recovering from an injury, more game time. I really don't expect to see KWP start against Everton and at this rate he won't play until Trippier is injured again or in the FA Cup game.

Unless Aurier is back, KWP has to start that match. We have 6 games in the next 16 days(including 4 league games in 9 days). Trippier starting 3 in a week straight off a re-injury(he got injured in the same place his first game back the first time around) would be very, very risky.

He will get plenty og game time in the coming weeks. I just think Poch went for his best available team knowing that the game was very important. I expect to see KWP and Skipp feature regularly now

Poch deserves massive credit for how he's handled KWP. We always had to be patient with a youngun as small and slight as him. But as always the payoff is well worth it.
