Last one has to be Bentaleb, before that Carroll and before that Kane. Think they will all make it with us eventually.

My first one I clearly remember was Guy Butters...thought he was gonna be a superstar CB...

Troy Archibald-Henville, because i hoped and prayed he would become captain, as no name has ever been crying out to be preceded by Captain as his.

El Hamdaoui was one i thought would be a superstar, Pekhart, and there was a young Irish lad we had who was supposed to be absolute mustard, next up he was crocked and i think he plays for a non league side now. Anyone remember who i'm talking about?

Honourable mention to Dorian Dervitte as well, shame about the injuries

Agreed. DD was the one I expected to make the step up. Such a classy defender. A terrible injury stopped him in his tracks. Real shame.

Definitely Phil Ifil, especially after his debut. Not sure what went wrong.

Caulker is another from more recent times. After seeing him two or three times for the youth team, then during uni getting to see him play for both Yeovil and Bristol City during his loans on several occasions I thought he was going to be a star. He just looked ridiculously comfortable even at a young age. I still think we gave up on him a bit early and he was a victim of AVB's impatience and unwillingness to develops youngsters, and I don't think the highline tactics suited him, but he didn't kick on and has got stuck at low-level PL, which I guess is still a damn good career compared to 99% of the rest who didn't make it. Still has time to progress as well.

Thought dean parrett was gonna be one of them and also had high hopes for Terry Dixon.

I still think that given time, the correct coaching and not rushed into playing too many games too soon that Bentaleb could be a great, great player. Amazing to think so many 'shite' teams turned him down before we picked him up.

Darren Caskey. Captained England U21's to a European Championship I think. Looked like he was really going to be a player

Took the wrong path and ended up on the piss with Gazza every week!!! What a waste

Now Assistant Club Manager at Gateshead. His son looks a decent prospect at Brighton

The last one was definitely Caulker. He had rave reviews from every club we loaned him out to and looked fairly solid in his first season with us.

Was very surprised we sold him.

Not strictly a Spurs youngster, but I thought Dumitrescu was set to be the dogs bollocks

Until everyone caught onto the fact he only turned one way...

Pritchard, after watching some of the clips on youtube, before he went on loan.
