I never thought I would say it, but I've missed reading his predictions over the summer.

So, when I checked the Beeb site today it was a great pleasure in seeing his predictions.

Even more shocking to see him predict us draw against his beloved Liverpool...

Is Lawro finally seeing the light ;-)

Tottenham v Liverpool (1600)
Liverpool have doubts about who will start in the centre of defence, an key area which gives them strength through the side.

So Steven Gerrard's fitness becomes key and Rafael Benitez will hope his star midfielder has recovered from his groin strain which kept him out of England's friendly against the Netherlands.

You always know what you are going to get with Harry Redknapp's teams, good, flowing football and the ability to create plenty of chances.

Harry is beginning to address the defensive problems and if Tottenham play to potential, then he will be aiming for at least fifth place.

Verdict: 1-1

I would take a draw.

I'm going to keep a table for Lawro's predictions to see where he has us over the course of the season.

He is a big Harry fan, and his predicting system is based mostly on home versus away form.

Expect to see him predict us to beat most sides 2-0, or 2-1 at home. 1-1 draws against the big four. Away he will go for score draws against the better sides if we are in good form, losses against big four, and wins against the strugglers

I would take a DRAW right now ! Then 6 points from Hull and Dirty Spammers ... then 7 points from three games, I would love it !

I think we will get 8 points from two games. It is meant to be.

Although often infuriating...lawro's predictions are the first thing match related I look at on the bbc every week. I love reading his insights into games. Glad he's back, and I think he's on drugs this time round!!

I'd forgotten that our top marksman Jamie Carragher would be playing. Plenty of balls into the box and I'm sure he'll tuck one away at some point.

Yes Lawro it is good to see Harry addressing that troublesome defence that conceded fewer home goals than anyone else in the league last year.

Indeed, maybe keep these thread running instead of having a new one each week?

I totally disagree, alot of liverpool fans will too.

Lawro is NOT bias towards them at all, if anything he is quite cynical about Liverpool, maybe its a mental thing as he knows if he is nice they will accuse him of being bias.

Lawro always gets it spot on with us in my opinion, he gets alot of things spot on, people just don't like hearing it.

I agree it will be 1-1, it'll be a type of 1-1 that we shold have won but missed too many chances

Hull v Tottenham

Hull know that against a side like Tottenham, who will be aiming for the top six, a point would be a good result.

They were a bit unlucky to concede so late against Chelsea and they troubled them when they were allowed to.

Tottenham struggled away from home last season, I expect that to improve with Sebastien Bassong looking good on his debut and I think they can come away with a point.

Verdict: 1-1

That is a safe prediction from Lawro. He has no idea how we will perform away from home and having not done well away last year he is unlikely to back us to win our first away game of the season. Having trounced Hull in Beijing, we will surely be going all out for our second win of the week.
