It was a busy weekend for Spurs players out on loan.

Danny Rose played 82 minutes before being substituted due to injury in Sunderland's narrow 0-1 loss to Arsenal.

Simon Dawkins made his debut for Aston Villa as a 63rd minute substitute as the Villains grabbed a crucial 2-1 win against West Ham.

Fellow struggles QPR lost 4-1 at Swansea with Andros Townsend starting and playing 90 minutes. Townsend sent in a cross that was handled by Ashley Williams with the score at 3-1 but the referee waved away the protests to deny QPR the chance to get back into the match.

In the Championship, Adam Smith played the full match in his 21st appearance of the season for Millwall as his side lost 2-1 at out-of-form Blackpool.

Alex Pritchard played for the second time for Peterborough in their 2-1 victory over Leicester as a 75th minute substitute before having to be subbed himself in the 96th minute due to injury.

In League Two, Jordan Archer kept a clean sheet as Wycombe beat York 4-0.

Yago Falque played 79 minutes and set up the third goal as Almeria beat Sabadell 5-1 in Spain's Segunda Division. Almeria are flying high in second place in the table.

Mame Biram Diouf's early goal was the difference as Hannover beat Gomes' Hoffenheim 1-0 in the Bundesliga.

Souley Coulibaly (Grosetto), Ryan Mason (Lorient) and Tomislav Gomelt (Espanyol) did not appear for their teams.

David Bentley had a debut to remember for Blackburn in the FA Cup after joining his former club on loan until the end of the season.

Source: Official Site

The midfielder's first appearance was against Arsenal as Championship side Rovers caused the shock of the fifth round at the Emirates on Saturday.

David entered the fray at 0-0 with 62 minutes on the clock and 10 minutes later, Colin Kazim Richards struck the only
goal of the game.

David may now come face-to-face with Spurs team-mate Adam Smith for a place at Wembley in the semi-finals.
Adam came on as a late substitute as Millwall beat Luton Town 3-0 in Saturday's early kick-off and the Lions now host Rovers in the quarter-finals.

Jordan Archer started as Wycombe lost 1-0 at Bristol Rovers in League Two.

Heurelho Gomes made a number of fine saves to no avail as Hoffenheim suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.

Yago Falque played 90 minutes as Almeria drew 2-2 against Guadalajara in Spain's Segunda Division. Almeria stay second, but are 12 points adrift of Elche.

In Italy, Souleymane Coulibaly came on in the 61st minute as Grosseto scored a last-minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw against Lanciano in Serie B.

Bongani Khumalo came off the bench at the start of the second half as PAOK draw 0-0 against AEK in the Greek Super League. PAOK slip to third and are 17 points behind leaders Olympiacos.

Didn't know that Coulibaly scored a last minute equalizer. Have high hopes.... but I also have high hopes for all our youngsters.

Harry Kane made an impressive debut for Leicester City at Blackpool on Saturday.

The striker joined the Foxes on loan on Thursday and was straight into the starting line-up for the Championship encounter at Bloomfield Road.

Harry was denied what would have been an fantastic debut goal when Matthew Gilks tipped away his volley from 22 yards.
He was then brought down in the box in the second half only for Chris Wood to miss from the penalty spot and then set-up a golden chance for Lloyd Dyer, whose effort was blocked as it ended 0-0.

Foxes manager Nigel Pearson said: "I think it was a good debut, he showed a lot of tactical awareness and his understanding of our system was very good. I’m delighted to have him on board."

Staying in the Championship, David Bentley played 90 minutes as Blackburn drew 0-0 against Leeds and Jon Obika made his debut for Charlton late off the bench in a 2-0 home defeat against Forest. Adam Smith was an unused substitute as Millwall beat Middlesbrough 2-1 at the Riverside.

In the Premier League, Andros Townsend looked lively in a 75-minute shift for QPR but could do little to prevent Manchester United from winning 2-0 at Loftus Road.

Simon Dawkins came on in the 82nd minute as Aston Villa suffered a late 2-1 defeat at Arsenal.

In League Two, Jordan Archer started again in goal for Wycombe as the Chairboys lost 2-1 at home to Southend.

Away from the UK, Yago Falque scored the first goal of his loan spell at Almeria as his side beat SD Ponferradina 4-0 in Spain's Segunda Division.

Heurelho Gomes started as Hoffenheim suffered a 2-1 loss against FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga.

Harry Kane marked his home debut with a goal for Leicester City against David Bentley's Blackburn on Tuesday night.
The striker headed home the second goal as the Foxes secured a 3-0 victory in the Championship.

Harry was in fine form and forced an early save from Rovers' goalkeeper Jake Kean before heading just wide.

Chris Wood opened the scoring after 29 minutes and Harry made it 2-0 just before half-time, rising well head home meet Ben Marshall's cross.

David, who completed the full 90 minutes for Rovers, tried his luck from distance in the first half but Leicester were in charge and Harry went close again in the second half before being substituted on 83 minutes. Andy King completed the scoring in injury time.

Nigel Pearson was pleased again with Harry's display. “I thought he played very well again tonight. He hasn’t played much football recently so for him to be able to manage the two games he has played shows he has a lot of football intelligence," he told lcfc.com.

In League Two, Jordan Archer started again as Wycombe ended a recent run of defeats with a 2-1 win at Torquay.

Heurelho Gomes faced the mighty Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

The goalkeeper currently on loan at Hoffenheim actually captained the team in a 1-0 loss against the runaway leaders.
Bayern didn't turn on the style that impressed so much in the Champions League at the Emirates recently, but they still stretched their lead to 17 points from Borussia Dortmund with the only goal of the game from Mario Gomez in the 38th minute.

Staying abroad, Bongani Khumalo played 67 minutes as PAOK beat Panionios 4-2 to stay third in the Greek Super League.

Yago Falque played 83 minutes as Almeria beat Hercules de Alicante 2-0 in the Segunda Division of La Liga while Souleymane

Coulibaly was an unused substitute as Grosseto caused a shock by beating leaders Sassuolo 2-0 in Italy's Serie B.

Jon Obika made his first start for Charlton and played 63 minutes as Charlie Austin's screamer won it for visitors Burnley in the Championship.

Harry Kane had an eventful game for Leicester at Ipswich. He almost scored a wonder goal in the first half - flicking the ball over one defender and then beating another before volleying wide - and then had a goal disallowed for offside. He then sidefooted his best chance inches wide before the home side grabbed a last-minute winner at Portman Road.

David Bentley was withdrawn at half-time as Blackburn lost 3-2 at home to Peterborough United while Adam Smith was an unused substitute as Millwall lost 1-0 at Leeds.

In League Two, Jordan Archer made key saves from Gareth Evans and Junior Brown with the scoreline goalless against Fleetwood before Wycombe scored the winner in the final minute at Adams Park. Jordan then made another save in added time from Jon Parkin.

In the Premier League, Andros Townsend was an unused substitute as QPR beat Southampton.

What doesn't look good is the number of times our players are getting subbed.

Bentley on 45
Obika on 63
Khumalo on 67

whilst three players didn't even get on (4 if you count Mason who has gone on holiday in france it seems)

Townsend
Smith - what has happened here? played and got good reviews earlier in the season now can't get in the team
Coulibaly

With the exception of Couli (who is still very young) and possibly Smith all the rest need to leave on a perm if they cannot even get time at their loan clubs.

Adam Smith was back in the starting line-up for Millwall on Tuesday night - just five days before his loan team play for a place at Wembley in the FA Cup.

The full-back played the full 90 minutes but it wasn't the best of nights for the Lions as they suffered a 2-0 home defeat against Wolves in the Championship at the New Den.

Adam will now hope to keep his place as Millwall host Blackburn - and a possible meeting with David Bentley - in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday. The semi-finals are at Wembley.

Blackburn were also in action on Tuesday night and David was an unused substitute in a 1-0 loss at Bolton.

Harry Kane played 90 minutes and had an early chance as Leicester City left it late to grab an equaliser against Leeds United - it ended 1-1 at the King Power Stadium.

Finally, Jon Obika came off the bench in the 73rd minute as Charlton drew 2-2 against Peterborough United at London Road.

Andros Townsend scored what could be a vital goal as QPR fight to beat the drop in the Premier League.
The winger hit a spectacular 25-yarder that dipped into the top corner for Rangers' second goal in a 3-1 win against Sunderland at Loftus Road on Saturday.

The win moved QPR to within four points of Villa outside the drop zone - and they go to Villa Park this weekend.

Danny Rose came off the bench in the 57th minute for the Black Cats.

Staying in the Premier League, Simon Dawkins was an unused substitute as Villa won another huge game at Reading.

In the Championship, Harry Kane played 61 minutes as Leicester City suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Sheffield Wednesday while Jon Obika came off the bench late as Charlton beat Huddersfield 1-0 at the John Smith's Stadium.

We were denied the spectacle of a Spurs showdown for a place at Wembley as Adam Smith was an unused substitute in Millwall's goalless draw against Blackburn in the FA Cup quarter-final at the New Den. However, David Bentley played a full shift for Rovers and provided the cross for Josh King to strike the woodwork five minutes from time.

The teams replay at Ewood Park on Wednesday for a semi-final against Wigan at Wembley.

In League Two, Jordan Archer's Wycombe were beaten 4-1 at Rochdale.

Away from the UK and John Bostock enjoyed a positive debut for Toronto FC in the MLS.

He earned the penalty for Robert Earnshaw to grab his second goal of the game as Toronto beat Sporting Kansas City 2-1 at the Rogers Centre. John completed 85 minutes.

In Germany, Heurelho Gomes had little to do as Hoffenheim picked up a key 2-0 win against bottom side Grenther Furth in the Bundesliga.

Bongani Khumalo started as PAOK won an eventful game in the Greek Super League, eventually finishing the match with nine men after two red cards but holding on for a 2-1 victory against Platanias.

Yago Falque started again as Almeria suffered a 3-2 home loss against Las Palmas in Spain's Segunda Division while Souleymane Coulibaly came on in the 60th minute and forced a save from goalkeeper Rafael as Grosseto went down 2-0 against Hellas Verona in Serie B in Italy

On the bench for Millwall's last two fixtures, Adam Smith the full-back was called into the action early in the Championship derby at Charlton on Saturday when he replaced Karleigh Osbourne.

He came on at left-back and went close to opening the scoring in first half injury time, firing just wide from the edge of the box.

Millwall went ahead on 57 minutes and Adam was then brought down midway in Charlton's half, allowing Shane Lowry to curl the free-kick into the top corner for 2-0.

Adam - now on England U21 duty - will hope to hold onto his place as Millwall prepare to face Wigan in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Saturday, April 13.

Jon Obika was an unused substitute at The Valley.

Staying in the Championship, Harry Kane came off the bench in the 69th minute as Leicester suffered a 2-1 defeat at Derby.

Andros Townsend continues to impress in QPR's fight for survival in the Premier League.
The winger - also on England U21 duty - fired home the equaliser at 2-2 in a crucial encounter at Villa Park.
However, Villa hit back again to take three valuable points thanks to Christian Benteke's winner nine minutes from time. Simon Dawkins was an unused substitute for Villa.

Staying in the Premier League, Danny Rose - another player with England U21s - was back in the Sunderland starting line-up and played 90 minutes as the Black Cats drew 1-1 against Norwich City.

In Spain, Yago Falque was denied one-on-one at 3-1 as Cordoba beat Almeria 4-1 in the Segunda Division.

Heurelho Gomes kept a clean sheet as Hoffenheim drew 0-0 against Mainz in the Bundesliga and John Bostock played another 90 minutes for Toronto FC in the MLS, this time his side lost 2-1 to Montreal Impact in front of over 38,000 fans in Montreal.

In France, Ryan Mason was an unused substitute as L'Orient beat Brest 4-0 in Ligue 1 and that was the case for Bongani Khumalo as PAOK beat Panathinaikos 2-0 in the Greek Super League.

Just to add, Souleymane Coulibally was an unused sub again, and Tomislav Gomelt seems to have disappeared off the planet. Not mentioned by Espyanol or Spurs !

Good to see Adam Smith playing as a left back for Milwall, he's not played that position much in recent years - useful to have it reconfirmed that can cover that position if necessary..

Gomes
Smith Khumalo Stewart Rose
Luongo Mason
Townsend Bentley Dawkins
Kane
Subs: Miles, Byrne, Parrett, Bostock, Pritchard, Falque, Obika
Reserves: Gomelt, Coullibaly.
Harry fielded weaker line-ups than that in the Europa last season.

No, went on a trial - but stayed at Spurs.

Maybe considering a loan next season ? Or maybe thye Munns loan would only happen if Parrett/Luongo did not goto Swindon. Who knows !
