"The right of a footballer to work is being violated, and football should be worried about that. The nine (international) games may seem excessive, but the fact that he can't watch a game of football, or train or carry out his job, we are talking about unpleasant things."

spot on from his lawyer, Suarez really is an 'unpleasant thing'..

I think Liverpool have done very well to get 75m for a player who, despite his obvious abilities, was becoming a bit of a liability.

They were good last season whilst he was suspended, so now they'll be that same team with all of those additional players brought in using the Suarez money.

Worrying times.

Sorry, but I can't agree.

Liverpool were not particularly good in their first eight games. I wanted them all. They got good results, often quite luckily (Stoke missed a penalty, rightly given, and were absolutely battering them by the end of the game; Swansea were by far the better team - both games at Anfield). They got good results and it seriously boosted their morale when they needed it, with the boost that they knew they would improve further when Bucky returned.

They have to replace more goals than last season and their defence was suspect. One of their best players has gone, the other one may have just been having a swansong last season. Their squad was light and they didn't have European football to stretch it. Aside from Suarez and Gerard, they were devoid of any real top class players (if Gerard ever was), and everything, including the media and the Hillsborough phenomenon was to their benefit.

As far as I can see, so far, they have spent well, but also with some risk - and largely just filled out their squad, and tried to replace Suarez's goals (with unseen results). Jury's still out, for me.

They got wins but it was nearly always a single goal....they didn't start scoring for fun until bograt come back.
IMO they were fortunate to get the points they did during his suspension.
I'll start to worry if all their new signings all click straight away....until then I'm gonna enjoy winding scousers up :)

plus they picked up a lot of points from the ridiculous dives earning themselves almost continuous penalties. I can't see that happening again.

Suarez has already enrolled his Daughter in Primary School in Liverpool and told the club and his friends so if he's planning on going to Madrid it certainly weren't in his thinking as recent as a week ago.

I do find it amusing how badly Spurs, Utd, Arsenal and Everton fans are falling over themselves trying to persuade themselves and anyone who will listen that Suarez will definitely will be a Madrid player come Sept. Pure desperation.

I don't for one minute think JWH will sell for anything less than a world record fee and now we made CL there are no active release clauses in his contract. Him kicking off won't matter a jot just like last season as he knows the consequences (which is why he won't play up). JWH won't sanction a sale either again because (unless Madrid decide to change their minds on Benzema) there is no-one to replace him and JWH is a stickler for that.

I honestly believe he'll stay now we have CL football as he has said several times in interviews he wants to experience.

Also, Marca isn't Gospel. There were at least 4 stories from them this time last Summer reporting a deal agreed with Suarez taking him to Madrid and several front pages. They have to fill it with something everyday. here's just one example:

A deal for Luis Suárez - MARCA.com (English version)

Even if we do sell him, with the money we have to spend and the targets we have already made a move for I'm confident we'd still come 4th.

To be fair, he did say he found it amusing how so many fans of other clubs were trying to convince themselves that Suarez would end up at Madrid.

Barca eh? Looks like we were all way off :ROFLMAO:

(edit: Ruddy conceeded 11 goals from Suarez and feel he helped Suarez look attractive to Barcelona. Atleast he have a decent sense of humour!)

Not often I disagree with you, but I do here. Firstly they weren't that great without him and secondly integrating several new faces is never as straightforward as it sounds, as we all know now.

Worrying!? - I think its great he's gone, he was an absolute leathal weapon for them and they'll miss him whoever they bring in.

They will not waste the money they got for him like we did with Bale

I hate this sort of comment. You got a crystal ball? You know how several new faces will settle and gel in their side? Its fair to say that some of them, at least, will require some time..the likes of Markovic in particular.

Furthermore our new signings have only had one season so why are you writing them all off? Ridiculous.

If anything we could be the ones making strides this season as our players have had a season under their belts and hopefully will receive better coaching and direction from Pochettino and his team.

Liverpool could take a while to get use to losing someone who was involved in about 50 of their goals last season why they attempt to integrate new signings with expectations a lot higher and a much tougher schedule to negotiate as well - compared to last season anyway.

Signing 7 players with no Premier league experience and expecting them to all gel and settle was never going to work

Daily Mail impartial view on the move

Luis Suarez has left Liverpool for Barcelona in a £75million deal and the rest of the country will bid 'Good Riddance'.

Branded a biting, racist cheat

Half the damage was Liverpools own doing. The response from KKK Daglish and with the players wearing the Suarez t-shirts when he was being investigated for racism was quite frankly disgusting.

They wern't all playing at the same time though, so lets not exaggerate for affect.

It was risky but all this crying about Liverpool is ridiculous. They're chasing mid table premiership players ffs - man up.

If they were signing players like Sanchez, Vidal, Griezmann...and players of that ilk, I'd agree it would be pretty worrying. But they arn't.

They're losing the third best player in the world and replacing him with predominantly mid table Prem players.

I would love for pool to draw barca in the CL and pool to knock them out and fail at the quarters after being knocked out by real and Bale. Poetic justice and karma

I am gutted to see the back of another quality footballer to the spanish league. I enjoyed the fact this particular player was an absolute lunatic that and his skill on the pitch made him thoroughly entertaining.

We have been lucky to watch Bale and suarez single handedly drag their team mates into places they didn't belong I'm not seeing a player who can do this for a prem club next season and frankly the league is poorer for it. :(

Obviously they'll miss Suarez and yes they will have to incorporate all the new players, but unlike Spurs with Bale they weren't a one man team last season.

I think their new players will have it easier as there is a good existing team there.

I know theres a lot of the summer still to go but I can't see us finishing above them next season.
