Well, there is one individual who has proven himself to be a fine Premier League manager in the past and also played for West Bromwich Albion...

Not sure he particularly enjoyed it though. Got a face on him like Jan in the Sherwood years...

Would love to see him back. Only after we've played them though.
He was handsome back then. Definitely looks like Jan.

So Slutsky is now in charge of Hull. That's honestly a legit good get for them tbh. He built a strong Russian national team during his spell as GM for Russia and also made CSKA Moscow into champions a couple of times.

Him being friends with Abramovic isn't bad either for Hull. Wouldn't be shocked if Chelsea start loaning out guys to Hull for as long as he is there.

Depending on the backstage stability at Hull this could end up solid for them long term.

Do you think Stoke will stick with Hughes? Would they bring Pulis back?
No and no IMO. The way Stoke discarded Pulis, simply saying well done but we don't want to play your style any more, probably wound him right up. Don't think he would want to go back.

But Hughes won't last the season.

Nor should he. He really is a nothing manager, kinda just coasts along. Long run of bad form, followed by a few encouraging results, then revert back to type. Another manager who has been given far too many opportunities.

Mentioned this before, but Clement seems to completely change the moment he gets a top job. As a #2 he comes across as calm, charismatic & grown-up. But put him in as #1 and he turns into a red-faced panic merchant who's kinda childish and not terribly authoritative.

uh oh. New manager bounce...

Swansea closing in on former Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal

Carvalhal left Sheffield Wednesday by mutual consent on Christmas Eve after two and a half years managing at Hillsborough, in which he twice took them into the Championship play-offs.

Well Watford away is their next game, hopefully they wreck his confidence early on.

The Monk/Carvalhal situation is ridiculous. There was a big Boro-Wednesday game last week, billed as a play-off 6-pointer, with both managers under pressure to move in the right direction. Wednesday were leading on the half hour, but two late goals nicked it for Boro.

Net result: Both managers got the sack. Nuts.

The Swansea appointment could be good planning. He might just keep them up this season, but if he doesn't he's already got experience of the championship and did well getting Wednesday to the playoffs twice.
