It appears we have two almost identically titled threads for managerial merry-go-rounds here. Can a mod please merge? I saw @Dougal was online just now.

Sparky out. First PL manager to be sacked by two clubs in the same year.

Southampton are completely rudderless now after DoF Les Reed went a few week ago too. Will be interesting to see who the owner gets in.

Big Sam hasn't been there yet...

Football 365s article writer enjoyed this.

The Welshman was appointed Southampton boss as Mauricio Pellegrino’s replacement in March, miraculously guiding them to safety with eight points from eight games.

However, Southampton have for some reason decided that a 19.2% win rate is not quite good enough, and have sacked Hughes after he won just five of his 26 matches in charge.

Great Hughes sacked just before they play us lol...

I never felt he was a great fit for them anyways.

Moyes in running and reckon he’d be a great shout as will stabilise them and actually think he’s a good manager; wasn’t given enough time at Man U, Sunderland have been on decline for number of years so was a really tough job and he did a good job at spammers and they should have kept him.

Mark Hughes must be the most overrated manager of all time. I've seen absolutely nothing from him to suggest he deserves jobs in the PL. How he got the Man City job years ago still staggers me.

I bet he's interested...

On Hughes, he's a wrecking ball for any club that wants to grow...he's heading for punditry.

He's also a massively boring fucker. I bet his family hate having to spend time with him when he's out of work.

First Hughes and then Moyes going to Southampton is the exact reason why we call this a Merry-go-round. It's hopeless.

Hasenhuttl would be a very interesting name. I don't know all that much about him but rather him (or anyone else) over any of the old guard.

Southampton need to go back to getting in a coach who fits in with their philosophy. They made one bad decision in sacking Puel and going for Pellegrino and they panicked. Hughes was never going to be a good appointment and Moyes will be more of the same.

Nobody's still at the club from when they had a philosophy, which is an even bigger problem. The Liebherr daughter who took over after her father passed has sold 80% to a Chinese businessman and pretty much all the middle men have left too. They need to rethink the structure of the whole club, not just the manager.
