Shame about Wagner, wonder why he chose to walk though.

Seems a little weak to me.

Probably been offered a job somewhere. I think he’s an ok manager and might do better with better players. Everton probably should have gone for someone like him rather than that charlatan Silva.

Burnout it sounds like. Offered to take them to the end of the season before quitting but his mind clearly wasn't in it any more.

Don't think he's resigned due to being offered a job already because by all accounts he resigned but expressed his intention to stay till the end of the season if the club wanted. The club are the ones who decided it best if he leave immediately rather than wait

A Leicester fan actually told me he'd heard Puel was gonna get the boot last night. He reckons they're potentially going to see out the season and then target Rafa Benitez.
It's a sad day for football when Leicester think they are the calibre of club that can poach a manager from the likes of Newcastle.

Pretty sure Benitez himself would prefer Leicester. Think it would be poor decision to hire him though.

Think Benitez is an under rated manager.

He has a very difficult task at Newcastle but has the fans on his side and is doing a good job.

Leicester have a decent young squad and need someone who can develop it and play good football. Hiring someone like Dyche or Benitez would be a waste.

Agree to disagree, think Benitez would do a good job with more funds and more supportive board.

It's sad the mess that Newcastle are in. It wouldn't really be poaching though. His contacts up at the end of the season and there's no indication that he'll sign an extension. He'll want to stay in England to be near his family so Leicester would be a decent option for him.

I just don't understand that attitude if indeed it is Benitez's attitude. He has made countless millions out of football why doesn't he just retire and be with his family full time ?
