I've only heard that Zola is a crap manager. Confuses the fuck out of players, continually changes formations and doesn't communicate well.

Put the Zola fiasco down to Chinese owners whose entire knowledge of the game comes from the Sky era, in which Chelsea are the very epitome of what a successful football club looks like. That's the entire frame of reference these types of noveau foreign owners have, and they put 2 + 2 together, and think a Galactico from that era must be a sure thing.

As we all know, Zola is a nice person, and I don't like to see him utterly humiliated like this, and BC are a proper old fashioned football club with great traditions. But whilst I wish no ill on their fans, I can't deny I'd feel a measure of glee if these shitty owners got what they deserve with relegation. How's that for a crash course in English football, lads?

I agree, I actually want them to get relegated from the choice of teams at the bottom. I have nothing against Birmingham, but agree with you that I hate how these owners come in and sack a manager who has done an amazing job (Rowett) and then appoint a manager like Zola who has failed in every job he has had. The sad thing is, in a couple of years another club will get taken over and Zola will again be given the job.

Pundit on talksport before the match today said he was sorry for Zola coming into this mess! This mess was a winning run and almost certain play off place.
I don't feel sorry for Zola, he had his agent selling him to the Chinese owners in order to gat rid of Rowett and give him the job, serves them right and serves him right, good riddance as far as I'm concerned.

Marco Silva: Watford appoint former Hull boss as new head coach

Marco Silva appointed as new Watford coach

Watford have appointed former Hull boss Marco Silva as their new manager on a two-year contract.
Silva is the ninth Watford boss in five years and the eighth since the Italian Pozzo family took over in 2012.
The 39-year-old Portuguese replaced Mike Phelan at Hull in January but was unable to prevent relegation to the Championship and resigned on Thursday.
Chairman Scott Duxbury said Silva is "one of the most sought after head coaches in the Premier League".
He added: "His pedigree and promise speaks for itself with his achievements in top divisions elsewhere across Europe, as well as his work at Hull City last season."
Silva succeeds Walter Mazzarri at Vicarage Road, with the Italian dismissed before the final league match of a season in which the Hornets finished 17th.
Silva previously managed at Estoril, Sporting Lisbon and Olympiakos and during his Hull reign he extended a combined unbeaten home record with all four clubs to 41 matches, which was ended by a 2-0 defeat against relegated Sunderland.
Hull were relegated in the penultimate week of the season and Silva said at the time: "It's my goal as a manager to work in the Premier League."
The Tigers won only once away from home and lost their final three matches, suffering a 7-1 thrashing by second-placed Tottenham on the final day.

Nah, he'll last the season like both Flores and Mazzari and then they'll sack him on the Monday after the last round of fixtures.

Very surprised he hasn't gone to Porto, I thought they were looking for a new manager?

Leonid Slutsky set to be named Hull manager. Ex Russia and CSKA Moscow. This will end well.

They were talking about him on Football Weekly recently. Apparently he's been over in England for a while trying to learn the language and culture. I doubt that will prepare him for Hull though.
