Weird timing for Brenda and Leicester, with Leicester in no trouble or relegation and no chance of Europe.

If I was them I'd get someone to cover the interim period and see if someone better becomes available in the summer. Not sure where they think that parody of a parody of a football manager will take them.
I don't think it's weird timing at all. Celtic are out of Europe and 8 points clear at the top of the SPL so there's nothing important left for him there. He can have three relatively quiet months and ten league games to assess the Leicester squad and give him a good foundation to build on in the summer window. Win win for him IMO.

And I do think he'll do well at Leicester. Liverpool made him a complete **** (as they do to everyone who spends any length of time there) but if he can recapture some of the Swansea spirit at Leicester they can challenge Wolves as best of the rest for sure. And he'll definitely be more entertaining than Puel.

Managing Celtic must be the easiest job in the world. Perfect for Brenton. Fully expecting him to be sacked by the dopers within a year.

He's has it so easy at Celtic, he's obviously not up for the fight now Rangers are looking a bit stronger.

There's some absolutely amazing stuff there but this quote I actually really like. Imagine that coming from Poch's mouth and I'd be 100% behind it.

Oh I agree with that, he won't want to see his reputation slip while up in Scotland so he's getting out of dodge before there's a chance of that happening.

But I just see him doing quite well at Leicester and it is his Swansea days that make me think so, even if that was 8 years ago.

I ain't a big fan of Rogers, bit of an arrogant tit. But I do think he'd be a good appointment for Leicester.

Maybe he can catapault them to the heights he achieved at Swansea.

Brenda failed last time in the PL why should that change in the future ?

To be fair most managers fail at some stage. He's more experienced now and there will be different expectations at Leicester than at Liverpool. I think he'll do well there, but we'll still be able to take to the piss out him after his press conferences and interviews.

Brendan leaving Celtic now is absolutely absurd. Like I really can't get my head around it.

Yes, the SPL is a poor league and it is relatively easy to win the league with Celtic... you still do it though. The season isn't over and your team is poised to win the league. So win the league and leave in the summer.

I know we as Tottenham fans argue it's not about trophies all the time and I am firmly of that belief as well... but he is about to win the SPL again. Stay there, do that. Then go to Leicester. As others have said it's not like Leicester are in danger of relegation. He's not going there to fight for them to stay in the PL. They're gonna be in the PL next season.

Just such odd timing round all of this.

To be fair if Leicester paid the release i wouldn't be surprised if the Celtic board didn't personally drive him to LCFC's training ground themselves.

He's already won the League Cup. Celtic are in the Quarters of the Scottish Cup and 8pts clear at the top of the league. I get the pull of a Premier League club.. but he's got the chance to win a domestic treble (another for him there?). For the sake of waiting 3 and a bit months.

But then again... the jobs you could predict coming up soon are not that appealing - Oddschecker has Chelsea, followed by Everton, Fulham, Newcastle, Cardiff, Palace. He wouldn't get Chelsea, probably couldn't take Everton, Fulham will probably go down and then it's a bit rough. Puel was on shaky ground, whether now or May, or any time in between, so the Leicester job is realistically the biggest available and it is now, so I guess he has to take it otherwise he misses out for another season.

Winning a trophy in Scotland for Celtic is like that week I spent working for Tesco when I was 17. Not worth putting on your CV.

I believe he's on course to win the treble this year. I just really can't see the logic of leaving now before you could do that again no matter the league. Especially cause Leicester doesn't feel like a 'now or never' job. Do we think Leicester wouldn't be okay saying that he starts in the summer? Like... do both. As little as they mean win the trophies in Scotland THEN come to Leicester.

I think that's the thing for me. It's 3 months. Are these PL jobs truly right this very second or not at all? I'd have thought Leicester could have lasted the last 11 of the season on a caretaker manager then Brendan starts in the summer.

Am I missing the desperation of Leicester and their need to get a full time manager in instantly?
