Good luck to Daws. If all our players over the time he was here had showed the determination and commitment that he showed we might have won a few bloody trophies.

It was time for everyone to move on but we shouldn't forget everything he did for Spurs.

He was never a skillful player but always gave everything even when the team as a whole was a bit crap.

Hope everything goes well for him at Hull.

Not sure if I should change my handle or just try to find an even sadder dog. :(

You can keep the name and be proud of it, it would only have been bad for you if his head suddenly wasn't right to train and he then moved to Madrid a week later.

Great pro, great club man. Two 4th placed finishes in his 'trophy cabinet' so to speak.

The boy done well, considering when we signed him we were all more excited about fatty Reid.

Wish him all the best.

Surely, with him being 6months away from a decade we should all rally DL to give Daws a testimonial! He has been a victim of a new manager and a new system but he has been such a servant to this club and a great person to have around the club! Surely he is more deserving of a testimonial than the likes of Leon is man! Leon has served Everton well for a long time but Michael has done so much more for not only a struggling team but an achieving one as well!

The players' tweets speaks volumes of how much respect Dawson had in the dressing room. Despite his lack of ability, he was someone who loved the club and gave it his all. Didn't want to be sold at one point and fought his way back to the captaincy. Will certainly miss him in the lilywhite. Genuine nice bloke, who never gad a bad word said against him.

Goodbye and good luck Daws, enjoy being with Hudd and Jake again! (y)

What I wished him good luck didn't I? I am just pleased he has gone, he might be a top bloke but he is not a great footballer and I am glad he has finally moved on

What you basically posted was the equivalent of "You're a ****, but good luck". It's just not genuine so probably best to keep it to yourself.

That's a good point, I think I'll keep it. Although I'm also liking the idea of Federico Fuzzio right now.

I am well and truly gutted. My absolute favourite player at the club - even when Bale was there.

Gave us so much. Thoroughly decent guy and model professional. So decent and humble. Much better player than people ususally gave him credit for and amazing force in the dressing room. The club will be poorer without him.

Good luck Daws, hope it all works out for you.

Thank Fuck the donkeys gone

Good luck Dawson

Disgraceful attitude to one of our most loyal players. As much as it was time for him to move on, he was spurs through and through.

I'd like him to get some kind of role with us later in his career.

Loved him. Very sad he's gone. Was not gonna fit in with pochs plans so I'm glad he has a club he can improve, and be adored. 3m just seems like no money at all. Maybe levy took it as a thank you to daws, as a kind of I won't get in way if an offer comes in. Loving the pics posted and player comments. Hope he gets a testimonial.

As I said fair play to him for loving the club and giving it his all but I am glad he has gone and I think he has been very lucky to get where he was as a football player. I'm sorry for all you Dawson lovers out there I am just glad he has gone as a footballer don't matter how much of a nice bloke he is he was never going to take us forward

I'm glad Levy wrote a personal goodbye to him on the official site, how many players get that treatment? It's usually just the standard "We wish him luck..." generic statement.

He was our John Terry. Without the racism, ex-banging, off-field glory hunting and general w@nkerish behaviour.

OK, so actually there are no similarities because basically he was an awesome defender and a fantastically nice bloke, who I met several times on the children's ward at N Middx Hospital bringing smiles to faces (including mile). His heart was bigger than the gaps between Kaboul's teeth.
