It is a shame to lose someone who had been at the club for so long.

However, for the sake of his own career it is better he moves if he isn't going to play. The club has to keep moving forwards and Hull isn't a bad place to go these days.

Have you ever been to Hull?! I fully understand his hesitation

I'm genuinely gutted about Daws leaving. The desire and passion that he has showed for Spurs for 10 years has been top drawer. Good luck Michael.

Not a world beater, but we have had far worse players than Michael Dawson. Always thought him and King would have gone on to develop a top class partnership.

Met him a few times after games etc when he signed autographs and always seemed a genuine bloke. We would have a much better sport if more shared his attitude. Football waits for nobody however, and last season got things a bit messy at times.

Best of luck for the rest of his career, and he is sure to get a great reception whenever he returns to WHL.

Gutted. Really liked Daws! Levy probably sold him so he didn't have to have a testimonial tbh

It would be a nice gesture if DL gave Dawson a testimonial anyway regardless that it wasn't quite ten years (bloody near enough).

They're not about the money anyway, that goes to charity, just an opportunity for fans to say thank you and see a few old favourite faces.

He deserves it IMO. A great servant to the club, consummate attitude and professionalism, all round great man.

Many thanks Michael. Hope it goes well at Hull.
Well said I couldn't agree more.

Really glad the club have made a big thing of Dawson leaving instead of the usual short and sweet. Absolute role-model for the club and someone I've grown up watching with a lot of fondness.

Do you think any kind of support from the fans for a testimonial would be listened to by the club?

Probably the right move for all concerned but still sad to see him go. There were good days and bad days but he always gave his best and showed tremendous spirit and passion for the club, he truly seemed to care.

Best of luck to him and many thanks.

For the past decade Michael Dawson has been Tottenham through and through. For a modern footballer to remain loyal, professional and love the shirt is a rarity. Daws(&Ledley) has been a role model/ambassador for the club. For that he'll always be remembered at the Lane. Spurs fans all over should be very proud to have had a captain like Michael Dawson. Thanks Daws, it's been our pleasure.

We should start an online petition to the club to make sure he gets a testimonial and give us a chance to say thank you for wearing the shirt with such pride and being a genuine ambassador for our club.

Come on Levy do the right thing.

I wish Daws all the best for the future and hope we all give him a rousing reception when he returns home to the lane.

He always seemed grateful and thankful when wearing that famous badge on his chest.
