ive been working nights and got stuck into the'World Series'

I chose the Cubs. Naturally. They were like us. Not won for 108 years. Always the bridesmaid. Yet a great team. True and virtuous.

They were dead and buried. But they've come back. I really like them. They play in white and blue.

Last game tonight. I hope they do it.

Anywhere I can watch the game in London?

I fear you will struggle mate.

Everywhere closes at 0200.

Try Covent Garden though. There's a couple of places that are yank centric. Use your phone. You may be lucky.

Staying in Hyde park. Just got back from Spurs. I'll take a look! Nowhere stays open past then? On BBC or anything?

How long does a Baseball game typically last? Never watch a game in my life but I was thinking about downloading it and watching it tomorrow.

Well done the Cubs. A crumb of a crumb on this desolate morning.

We ended up going to the casino to watch it! Sadly I kept looking on my phone but never found it would be on btsport. With that said I doubt I would have been able to stay up until five!

Just finished watching. Got to the 10th inning watching at work on my tablet and came home to finish it.
Had avoided the result all day, only for my wife to ruin it for me.

I was downloading it as I was listening to Stone Cold's podcast. At the end they do a news bulletin and I knew they were going to say the result but my dive to stop the podcast was in vain.

Lifelong Cubs fan. When I chose Spurs I couldn't help but notice the similarities between Spurs and Cubs.

Can't describe the feeling since Wednesday night. The last great American sports story.

Estimated 6M people out for the celebration today in Chicago. Chicago's population is 2.5M.

And you've got to think that a fair % of the 2.5m population will be White Sox fans...

Not as many as you'd expect. I'd guess it's probably 3/4 Cubs to 1/4 Sox (or 2/3 to 1/3).

One of the Cubs main reasons for having such a large fandom is that they were one of the first teams (if not THE first) with National TV reach (their broadcast station, WGN, was aired nationwide) and they played more day games than everyone until 1989 when lights were finally installed at Wrigley.

When you're a kid at home in the summer time (anywhere in the US) and you turn the TV on you have a choice of daytime talk shows, soap operas, or Cubs games. As you can imagine, the majority of the country with no local team to cheer for latched on to the Cubs.

That also explains the large showing at the parade. People came in from everywhere.

Not long until pitchers and catchers return for pre season. I know March is just a load of somewhat meaningless games, but is anyone else hyped for the upcoming season?

Thank fuck for that.

Although im sort of fucking done with the Yankees already. Oh its the future now? Cool lets go sign another 30+ year old whose complete garbage to block a future star because that always works out. Not excited about this season at all now. I wanted to see Sanchez, Bird, Judge AND Austin. Not fucking Chris Carter and Aaron Hicks.

New York sports franchises have the dumbest owners in sports and it isnt remotely close. I dont like Hal and think hes a complete idiot(RIP George) but i will say at least hes not as bad as the Wilpons. And no one in the history of the world is as bad as that fucking no good scumbag James Dolan.
