:ROFLMAO:

A guy who was second-fiddle to Jay fucking Cutler
To be fair, he was also second fiddle to Tom Brady for a couple years.

I understand dealing Jimmy G (we aren't going to franchise him at $20m), i don't understand not having a replacement on hand when making the decision.

But at this point after 17 years with Belichick i have given up on trying to understand his moves and just accept that more of them work than don't.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Pats draft a QB. The 49ers getting Garoppolo means they won't be dipping into the class of QBs next year.

I guess it just depends on how long you think Brady will be able to carry on for at his level. If you think he's going to go for another 5 years then dealing Garapolo makes sense I suppose. The trouble now is if Brady gets injured or starts to rapidly decline then they're going to be substantially weaker than if they had Jimmy.

The Texans have signed Josh Johnson, who hasn't thrown a pass since 2011 and has a passer rating of 57.7.

Thank Christ, Ken Norton Jnr was fired - he certainly won't be the last the way this season is panning out.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Del Rio following him in January if there isn't a big improvement soon . Looking at the rest of the season, I can't see the Raiders winning more than one or two of their remaining games.

Lol, well it's Raiders win anyway. Giants up next...

What a weird and lumpen season for the Silver & Black.
Considering how preseason the general consensus was the AFC West was the best division in football, jeez, look how it's panned out - terrible!

And yet, despite Oakland's troubles on and off the field, we are still in with a shot of winning the division with Kansas' season nosediving and the Bronco's in an absolute mess at QB.

That being said, can't see beyond a Patriots-Eagles Super Bowl - everyone else just playing for draft positions.

I would hate to work the PR for the Giants right now. The decision to bench Eli for Geno Smith and therefore end his streak of consecutive starts at 210 has gone down like a lead balloon with the fan base, media, and ex-players.

Brandon Jacobs
Eli Manning you’re always gonna be my QB. 2X Super Bowl MVP you can’t make that shit up bro.

Osi Umenyiora
Eli deserves much better than that. Much better. Class person, class player. That’s absurd

Carl Banks
I'm gonna say this and Im done.. ELI MANNING DID NOT QUIT ON HIS TEAM, HE DIDN'T TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT, AND NEVER BITCHED ABOUT WHAT WAS GIVEN HIM.. HE SHOWED UP WHEN MANY OF THESE SO CALLED PROS QUIT ON HIM.. AND THIS IS HOW IT ENDS? FUCK!!!!!!!!

Justin Tuck
I’m honestly at a lost for words. As a person that has seen Eli the QB but also Eli the Man, I’m truly pissed about what has taking place today. This decision is one of the STUPIDEST I’ve seen in my time being asap with pro sports #noloyalty #14years #bullshit

Victor Cruz
The only quarterback that’s ever thrown me the ball. I can’t say I agree with the decision…

Pissed Coughlin‏
Replacing Eli Manning with Geno Smith is like replacing Tom Coughlin with Ben McAdoo.

David Diehl
I'm absolutely speechless. I've watched every game & have sat through this rough @Giants season & this what you do to a man who has lead this team for 210 straight games

Sage Rosenfels
Let the man finish the job he started. At the minimum, he has earned that. #Eli

Plaxico Burress
Damn! Bench Eli? Man showed up every week for 14 years.

Shaun O'Hara
The ambrosia of emotions right now!! Didn't think the @Giants season could get any worse now THIS!!

Ed McCaffrey
As a former NYG I’m embarrassed by the callousness and lack of respect the organization has shown Eli Manning. Come on guys, you’re better than that!

Kurt Warner: "He's never done anything but show character and do the right thing...shame on the Giants."

Steve Smith Sr‏
Wow so Eli Manning get benched. Is it me or is #BenMcAdoo running out of ppl to throw under the Bus. He's like a student who didn't study for a test but keeps saying the teacher just doesn't like me. No Son you failed yourself. Str8 donkey

Art Stapleton
I'm getting to get writing on my column, but I'll say this: The #Giants owed Eli Manning a hell of a lot more than what they gave him today.

Rex Ryan: 'It's a slap in the face' and 'bizarre' to bench Eli in favor Geno Smith

David Carr
They’ve lost their collective minds.

Kevin Boss
I don’t agree with this decision at all and never will...nothing can be said that would ever change my mind!

It should go over like a lead balloon. It is an impossibly stupid decision.

This coming from a Pats fan, there is no way that Manning should be pulled from that dumpster fire of a team.

I could maybe understand it if you were going to start Webb. I wouldn't agree with the decision but i would understand it. You have a young QB that you think could be something and your team is 2-9...sure, start the kid and see if he is the answer.

But Geno Smith.....really?

I mean, Geno Smith was arguably one of the worst QBs to stride onto the field in the past 5 years. Not only was he awful, he was awful for the Jets. They play in the same fucking stadium. It's not like he was playing in LA. He was literally playing for the team that shares the stadium with the Giants. Everyone in NY/NJ (and the rest of the NFL) knows what Geno Smith can do well. What Geno Smith can do well is not be a QB capable of starting in the NFL.

You don't bench ANY QB for Geno Smith. There is no point. He is not going to be the starter when Eli retires, he doesn't make the team better (he likely makes it worse) to win now. The team is bad enough to get a high draft pick without putting Smith in to tank the season.

Starting Geno Smith literally accomplishes nothing other than prove that McAdoo is an even worse coach than people already thought he was.
