Yeah, who's going to stink more, Raiders or Browns?

As a Raiders fan it's a tricky one. Head says Browns win, heart says Raiders click at last.

Trubisky looked great, TB were awful but hopefully this gives us confidence. Bye week now then we return to play Dolphins. Shaping up to be a good division, think Packers will win it but we are holding our own.

You would think Vikings will start to pick up soon as well?

Not really digging the Dolphins' offense. Seems outside of trickery we're struggling we can't get people open.

Okay, first of all, I know absolutely nothing about American Football. Today I was given a team jersey as a gift and basically I want to know something about what I'm wearing because I guess they're now "my team".

Its a Houston Texans jersey in a kind of darkish red. It has Schaub on the back which a quick wiki check reveals is a guy called Matt Schaub and he threw the ball a lot, which I think is good :cautious:.

So, NFL officianados...should I be seen in public in this sports jersey or should it be filed away with the dodgy ties and novelty socks?

The Texans are a pretty respectable team. I think Schaub's time in Houston can be best described as average. If you can watch a couple of games to see if you like the team and if you decide to stick with them then in time upgrade to a DeAndre Hopkins or JJ Watt jersey.

Despite doing all we can to try to get Watson killed, we fucking won! Maybe next game, we block for him. What do ya say, OL, wanna do your job? Thanks.

Hopkins is absolutely incredible. This Coutee kid is great. Just gotta keep winning.

I dont like the Giants or the Jets. But McAdoo had it right benching him last year tbh, even though it was a desperate play by him. Giants had to move past Eli. But Giants fans and NY media refused to take it. And the Giants in there own idiocy refused to address it this off season either. Eli is horrific now and tbh, he’s never really been a great QB. His WR corps and defense won him the super bowls. No one will admit that though.

Kind of a weird jersey to be given to be honest. He was basically a bang average QB with the Texans maybe 5 or 6 years ago but hasn't played for them in years. It's kind of like being given a Spurs top with Kaboul on the back. As in, he played with us for a few years but would hardly be described as a star player or club legend or anything. As far as I know (though I may well be wrong) Schaub isn't some kind of Texans legend or anything either. Just some guy who played for them once and was OK but nothing special.

Big weekend! We are away to the Dolphins, not sure on this one, we have the defence to stop them but they are a mixed team, one week they look good, the next week they look awful. Hoping for a huge win, give us even more confidence. If we win this weekend I will start to believe we have a chance at winning the division. Although Packers and Vikings have straight forward games this weekend.

Apologies to @werty, but the Dolphins will always be different shades of shite with Tannehill playing QB. He is the worst kind of QB for a fan. Not top tier by a long stretch, but not so bad that he gets cut or traded either, so your team just ends up wasting a good portion (7 years and counting) of your life away with no hope of anything. The Bears should hang their heads in shame if they don’t win.

If they get a decent rookie QB (and that rookie contract), they could be scary. Barkley is the real deal and on a rookie contract too. They have OBJ and some defensive pieces. All that plus loads of money to spend on the rest of the team....

Somebody fobbed off one of their old jerseys on you, mate. Was it @yankspurs?

Lol. Its actually brand new. I'm pretty damn sure that the gift giver knows even less about NFL than I do.

I'll happily wear it though. My main concern to be honest was just to make sure that Schaub and the Texans weren't mired in controversy.

TBF to him, we've had a shit O-line for most of his stay here. Any time he's had good protection he's been good, but it's never lasted and we routinely have one of the worst O-lines in the league. Our offensive scheme is pretty shit too and nobody can get off press coverage.

We'd be better off getting rid when he won't eat up too much dead space (I think we can this summer) and starting over again, but we seem determined to spend money as if we're one or two players away every offseason which leads to an endless run of seven or eight win seasons.
