They are going all in. Not a bad shout at 20/1.

jump on that. Offense and defense will both be top 5 this season. They'll win their division. It will be one of the Rams, Vikings, Eagles, Saints, or Patriots winning it again this coming year.

Cowboys cut Dez. Bold move.

I just read that. I also read that he is taking it personally, and telling the Cowboys higher ups that he will "see them twice a year".

Looks like one of the NFC East teams will be getting his services, maybe on the cheap.

Richard Sherman all over again.

Giants should trade OBJ for at least 2 first rounders and sign Dez. I don't think they would lose that much production for this season and they would gain a ton.

Dez is nowhere near the player he was or at OBJ's level.

Of course he isn't at OBJ's level, but he is still Dez Bryant. He's struggled with injuries and he's been in the league a bit, but he has probably two good years left in him. Give him a contract that they aren't tied to and can cut bait if it doesn't work.

OBJ wants 20m a year and no WR is worth that, so if the Giants can get 2 1st rounders+ then that would be a really good move for them. They need a lot more help on their roster than one of the best WRs in the league.

I don't think their roster is that bad. They were bad last year but I think they were poorly coached. If they want to completely blow up their roster then maybe getting two 1st for OBJ might be a good choice, but I think they'd still be better off not signing Dez even if they get rid of OBJ.

They were bottom third of the league in every phase - I can't see that being entirely down to coaching.

They need QB, RB, a couple players on the OL, DL, and CB...and WR if they aren't going to pay OBJ

It's still mostly the same team that went 11-5. They definitely need about 3 OL players. They had an injury crisis at WR last year (still have Marshall and Shepard though who would be a decent 1-2 if he's traded) and the DB's seem to get suspended by McAdoo every week. Most of the reporters I follow really hated what their coaches were doing, offensively anyway.

As someone who follows a team that regularly signs players past their primes, I don't think they should do it. Unless they can get him really cheap.

Ha this thread must seem like a Giants hater and I'm not so it's a little ridiculous for me to keep arguing this but I just don't agree that they are the same team at all.

Statistically in 2016-2017 when the Giants went 11-5, they were the most consistent team week-in-week-out in NFL history. The defense, which was terrible in 2015, had a random spike of being really good in 2016 but then went right back to being terrible in 2017. Gone are the days of a really good Giants pass rush, especially now that they lost JPP. Their offense stayed bad from 2016 to 2017 with no good RB and Eli Manning declining even more...and he's going to decline further. NFL is all about QB so the Giants will be doomed this year just as they were doomed last year.

And you think Brandon Marshall would make a good 1-2 WR punch but don't think they should replace him with Dez Bryant?! Are you crazy? The distance between Bryant and Marshall is miles greater than the distance between OBJ and Bryant.

The Giants have three really good players in OBJ, Janorice Jenkins, and Landon Collins. They added good players in Ogletree and Solder.

That's...about...it...

And in a division with Wentz and the vicious Eagles defense, Dallas with Dak and Elliott...They'll win 7 games at the most and finish 3rd in the division if they have a really good season. They are mediocre and have drafted horribly over the last 3-4 years and even though their coaching will improve this year, they are still going to be a meh, boring team.

Went for the Chargers at 30/1. Second best scoring defense in the league, 5th in point differential in the AFC, winnable home games against the 49ers & Bengals, road games against the Browns & Bills, and the best of their division rivals is breaking in a new QB. Definitely worth a flutter.

This is a solid bet. Even when the Chargers have been losing games in the past two seasons, they've pretty much all been snatching defeats from the jaws of victory, or single possession games. Real snake bit stuff. Their defence is beginning to look great, all they need is to stay a little healthier all round as they always seem to be massacred by injuries.

Their defense had the spike because they signed some good players in free agency that year, most of which are still there and probably won't get suspended every second week, and Landon Collins made a huge leap in performance from his rookie year. Playing opposite a bad offense didn't help either

Their offense was terrible because they had a terrible O-line, average RBs, their top receivers missing most of the season and bad scheme/coaching.

Marshall has been better than Byrant recently and throughout most of his career despite playing with far inferior QBs and on bad teams.

Even if they Bryant in his prime they probably aren't going to compete with the Eagles, and wasting the cap on a stop gap is what keeps team mediocre.

You make some great points and I guess we'll agree to disagree. The Bryant to the Giants was just a quick suggestion and he's made it obvious he wants to stay in the division. I agree he would be a stop gap and keep them mediocre overall.

I think they need to rebuild but maybe I'm pessimistic about their chances.

Good bet at 30/1. Defense special with Bosa, Ingram, etc.

People were saying the same thing about Randy Moss in Oakland. Then the next season he got traded to the Pats and had maybe the greatest statistical season a WR has ever had. Dez is only 29. I'd withold judgement. I'm not sure how many of his problems stem from playing with Prescott and how much of it is his own doing.

There's also countless example of WRs who were poor a few seasons and never regained their form. Obviously he could turn back into the player he was three seasons ago, but I don't think he will. He relied a lot of his superior physical attributes and I don't think he has them any more.

Some done a great analysis of his performance last year but I can't find it anywhere (if I can I'll link it here). Here's another decent one though.

And Prescott definitely wasn't the problem.
