It wouldn’t be so bad if Parkey was semi decent but I think he is around late 20s for in ranking for kickers? And the game where he hit the post 4 times....

Not only that but even though it was tipped, I don’t think it was hitting anyway? Looked like it was going wide left.

Strange really, as soon as he made the kick before Eagles called the TO, I did not feel good.

Still not over it, such a tough loss to take. Especially as Mitch did so well to get us down the field like he did. Last night was a mixed game for him but when the pressure was on, he stood up and a lot of people doubted he could. Shame as I feel this team could’ve surprised everyone and pushed on further. Hopefully we can build on this next year but you do fear that the Vikings and Packers cant be as bad as this season again.

Sad way to end the season, hell of a game though.

If you'd told me the Bears with a rookie head coach who was, in the media's eyes, a bit of a dubious/shock hire to start off with, would take the Bears this far in his first year, i'd have laughed.

12 months or so later and NFC North champs. It isn't so bad.

Parkey was the reason the Bears were still in the game as much as anyone else. All sport needs a scapegoat. Galling to miss a kick, the shit he has taken for a tipped field goal no less is fucking sickening. Blame is a large part of sport now, such a shame.

They are defending Super Bowl Champs, good luck to the Eagles in the next round.

Side note, this weekend - all of the Head Coaches involved were connected to either part of the Bill Walsh coaching tree or the Bill Parcells coaching tree. The impact those guys have had on the game decades later is immense.

Yeah it definitely falls into the category of feeling like a dissappointment when actually winning the division was a huge achievement for the Bears in the first place. As you say, before the season started people were not optimistic with a very inexperienced QB, a rookie coach, and generally just being the Bears, so all in all it's still been a great season even though last night puts a downer on it. The city has finally got some belief back in the team and the general mood in the locker room will be much better than it was under Fox. Both Nagy and Trubisky will have learned from this season and will hopefully build on it next year

Hes 2nd worst kicker in the league according to rankings.
I am gutted, I hope its the start of something, winning the division was brilliant, we should have been in the next round but I doubt we would have progressed after that

Nagy is a breath of fresh air, win or lose he has been amazing in his post game pressers and also during the week. Andy Reid's influence is strong in this one.

@Vinny_Sammways_left_peg You think we will keep Fangio?

What about Howard, you think we will look to trade in the offseason? He has come on recently so not sure but he had a poor start to the season.
Fangio is going to dinner with the Bronco's group lead by Elway this evening in the U.S. They have done the same with other possible HC candidates. The Dolphins pulled out of the meeting with him so make of that what you will. Personally I hope he stays but with the D the Broncos still possess ... He has earned his shot imo. He'll be a big loss for the Bears if he does.

Howard was brutally underused yesterday, I think he offers this O a lot and I don't see teams offering that much for him, last year of his rookie deal - it'd have to be a crazy offer to let him go.

Adrian Amos is the interesting question mark for me, he is a FA and they haven't sat down with him yet. He has been decent for us, maybe they play it like they did with Fuller and see what his market is.

The off season will still hold interest for us, even if we don't have that many picks in the draft.

Yeah we need to make a few tweaks but if we can keep this core and have a good pre-season, then hopefully we can continue all the good work we did this year.

Packers have two first round picks this year? Could be a year where they find their feet again but knowing those jammy fucks they will draft two amazing players who slot straight in and start winning again.

Vikings and Cousins is a weird one, most people saw them as the NFC North team to beat this year but they were so flat, Cousins record Vs winning teams is appauling.

Our schedule next season is rough, least its the same for all of us. (Well packers is slightly easier but the state they are in at the moment I wouldnt say any game is easy for them)

Think the Pack need a few decent pieces, but in my life time they always seem to get it 'right' when it counts. Could be a year to find Rodgers long term replacement. Could do with a pass rusher as well, or a decent tackle on the O.

The vikes need O-line help in the worse way otherwise the money they spunked on Cousins looks even more of a waste.

The way I look at it, we're back competing again after years of dwelling in the basement of the division, long may that continue!

The frustrating thing about Parkey, bear cut Gould because he was due 2m, that seems so small now considering they would have to pay Parkey 5m and Gould 2m next year should they wish to go after him in free agency

Fangio gone. Was expected. Its a loss but we have the best D in the league, I am sure there will be several people interested in coming to us.

Watched a lot of NFL, but that was the worst refereeing decision I have had ever seen.
Pass interference...it was a world wide wrestling slam...how could it not be called
Saints were cheated out of a win there.

Yeah I have seen some bad decisions this season but that is the worst one. Shocking. Did fancy the Rams beforehand though.

That'll go down as one of the biggest officiating errors in recent NFL history. I suspect it will result in pass interference penalties being reviewable starting next season. It's always the stuff in the playoffs that leads to the rules being changed.

Have to wonder how they missed it. Just shows officials are terrible everywhere in all sports!

Credit to Rams though, some effort.

Two great games, two sets of awful officials

Ball don't lie.
