Couldn't find a thread for this, starts tomorrow.

I'm backing Adam Scott e.w. @ 16/1.

unbelievably wide open

as its a target course and not a big hitters course i might have a few quid EW on Luke Donald ( 60/1 ) Jamie Donalson ( 66/1 ) and Graeme McDowell ( 28/1 )

McDowell is a good shout!

I'll probably have a few quid on tiger. He reckons he's close to being back to his best after his op (I think I've heard him say similar before!) so if he gets off to a good start the 22/1 available on him will come crashing down. Other than that it'll just be a few quid ew on some of the usual suspects to help liven up the Sunday afternoon. No idea who on yet but it's gonna be very tough to make money gambling on this.

Finish guy Mikko Illonen looks interesting at 80/1 , he won the amateur around there , loves links , won the Irish Open recently so in good form

Just got tipped him by a mate, who fwiw has also gone for Rickie Fowler (40/1) and Thomas Bjorn (66/1).

So many contenders here that you can't help but think the bookies will coin it in no matter who wins.

Hoping McIlroy can follow a good first round with good second for the first time in a while.

Also, claim to fame for me. There's a young Irish amateur playing in the tournament by the name of Paul Dunne. I played in a three ball with him in the schools championships about 7/8 years ago. He shot 63, 8 under par that day. Think I shot 7 over and I was happy with it. It was a golfing master class that day, and he was only 14 or something at the time.

Anyway, he shot three over today, don't know if he'll make the cut or not. Would love it if he did.

Rory bogies the first.

I'm not a great golfer, but a bit of advice, Rory; don't fuck up this round.

Another 66 from Rory.

What with my knowledge of football management - Just fucking run about a bit! - I reckon I could make a living out of this motivation lark.

Don't forget you need a off shore bank account in the name of a family pet as well.

Looks like Rory could run away with it.

Still hoping my boy Schwartzel comes good over the weekend. Got a tenner on him at 66/1. 67 today.

Rory's to lose now

He's got to feel pretty confident. I wonder if he'll play just a little safe tomorrow; somehow I don't think he will. But the others have got to attack, and the course isn't going to take kindly to being attacked!
