Great last day...glad Rory didn't race away with it so there was a bit of tension...Sergio played so well and want him to win one, but not at Rory's expense...was waiting for sergio's trademark choke moment and sadly he delivered...Rory can choke too and certainly had his moments, but over the four days he was just able to limit his mistakes or take more chances than Sergio...three majors at 25...would have had a grand slam already but for final day collapse at the masters a few years ago...hope he does it in April

Don't know really. Just don't like the way he comes across.

I liked him when he won his first major but after that he seems to have become a bit of a Billy Big Bollocks.

Fair play to him though, he's played annoyingly well to win.

I'm not sure if he's a billy big bollocks. He gets a lot of media attention, partly because of his public relationship with Wozniaki, and now apparently with a model from Ireland. And being probably the best golfer to come a long since Tiger Woods. I agree that it might not look great from an onlookers view, and I get where you are coming from.

A lot of professional sports people don't like the media attention, (footballers aside) particularly golfers who are quite shy people I tend to find. I can't imagine he wants his whole life in the public eye, but I think he deals with it well.

He's just won his third major, 3/4 of a career grand slam, has won two Ryder Cups, plays with a sponsor who dwarfs pretty much every other in the world, and is only 25. He can act whatever wat he likes to be honest, provided he keeps winning golf tournaments. His bank balance won't be getting any smaller either.

By the way, it made me laugh today, that McIlroy was British when referred to on BBC, but on Friday he was Northern Irish.

You know what the thing is about that last day in the masters, I think if he had won that he wouldn't have won the us open that year. Now I know it's all hypothetical but I really believe he learned so much from that final day.

Quite possibly...think we saw some of that experience today...was much more conservative than usual...which was the right way to play it...even with Sergio playing well, it was still his to lose

Quite ironic that the major that best suits Rory's game will be the last one he wins last to complete the career grand slam.

If Rory is being billy big bollox, hate to think what that makes our overpaid England footballers...I think Rory comes across pretty well to be honest...very popular with fellow pros and walks about with a smile on his face...even his acceptance speech showed a bit of banter when he said given he was Utd fan, he was happy a course in Liverpool gave him such support
