i thought when he came on he tried very hard he wanted to do well and not afraid to have a pop at goal or the corner flag, giving time and more games hopefully he will do well for us,

best thing that ever happened to JJ was his baby girl, he just seems less error prone and has stepped up in terms of leadership and maturity recently, am very impressed.

Boateng looks good, the first shot was good and I think he is one for th future if he gets his attitude sorted, but the problem is he aint a holding midfielder neither is JJ so that why Zokora has to play.

Hudd also looked trimmer and really up for it, still slow as hell but dd well trackin back

Who says we need a holding midfielder though? Two combative, pacey midfielders with decent distribution and the ability to tackle well should be able to fulfil all the roles expected of a central midfield pairing without having to assign one as an 'attacking midfielder' and another as a 'holding midfielder'. They should be able to interchange at any time. Jenas and Boateng (if he can turn his potential into reality) fit that pairing for me.

"It was just important for me to get involved, I train hard and try to do my best for the reserve team," said the German youngster.

"I will get my reward one day. The main thing is to get playing and that is a big challenge because we've got a lot of top midfield players. I think if I train hard I will get my chance, I am a patient boy and you will see that."

Doesn't seem much wrong with that attitude to me.

And what's wrong with being a little bit Ghetto?

Nothing Ghetto_spur, absolutely nothing.

I also thought KPB was a little unlucky with that booking. Nothing wrong with it in my opinion, he quite clearly won the ball.

I agree with the sentiment behind this. It isn't always necessary - depends on the personnel available and to a great extent how good the centre backs are, assuming there is a 4-man defence

He's a fantastic player, I saw him twice at Hertha.

He's agile and great in the air, hard as nails yet fair, great short passer and all-round tidy player.

And there are no gloves in sight, September, November nor March.

Who would win in an attention-seeking contest between him and Taraabt??!

Reminds me of a quote from last summer during the England-India Test series, which went something like: "As interesting and competitive as this series has been, it's as nothing compared to the idea of Kevin Pietersen and Sourav Ganguly locked in a room with only one mirror."

Shamefully I can't remember who said it, but I think it works pretty well for our two young midfielders. Boateng is Pietersen by the way, because they both like to roll their sleeves up and get the guns out. I sense with both of them that they'd play topless if only it was allowed.

A bit OT,

Did anyone notice the lifeless acknowledgment/celebration between Ramos and Poyet after the Man City victory? Ramos showed more compassion and enthusiasm when he shook Goran-Ericssons hand.

One thinks that Poyet days are numbered...

Moment of last night for me happened when the camera cuts to our 'ghetto' Prince on the bench to see him preparing to come on. Rather than the traditional warming-up exercises, he appears to be doing up his hair and rolling up his sleeves to show off his muscles.

First thought was that we had signed a bit of a bell-end. Then suddenly came to realise that there is a fine line between genius and madness and that he was treading it just perfectly. Next followed that scything tackle and a shot that nearly hit the corner flag. Now he comes up with the classic quote

"The last time I wished I wasn't somewhere was in London and I got lost. I was thinking 'wow, what shall I do now!'."

the guy's got cult-hero written all over him. let's all roll up our sleeves in honour.

Try the link and then follow link at bottom re Hossam Ghaly. I've always defended him but really, what a pillock - he certainly doesn't have a future in the diplomatic corps...

Well, i saw him in nearly every game he played and i can only second what you wrote.

But while he improved his attitude as it seems, he hasn't shown a lot of his flair which was a trademark of him in Berlin, i guess he just needs more playing time to do that.
Now if we could get rid of Zokora ...just kidding. ;)

KPB looks like he has the potential to be a serious upgrade on Zokora, but it may take time. I think he was carrying an injury (and a new bride) when he arrived at Spurs, and it's taken him some time to get match fit.

It's good to know that our SC fans from Germany rate the Prince. One thing I did notice in that video compilation is that the boy looks like he can jump, and really attack the ball in the air at corners etc.

I assume your "a bit OT" should have read "a bit OTT" to preface the rest of what you then posted.

Because if it didn't it should. And in fact you should scrub out the word "bit" and replace with "paragraph which is fucking ridiculously bafflingly"
