Probably no Walcott either I believe.

Every reason to be confident, but I've learnt from the past that we should never get ahead of ourselves. We should control possession more than we usually do in a NLD though, and if we do that, we shouldn't lose at least.

Absolutely and if we do we'll get beat. We need exactly the same attitude as we've had in recent NLD's, and if that is present we'll have a great chance.

I can see us taking a 3 point weekend off of Liverpool and Arse, then again I believe it will only be between us and arse anyway, Liverpool have spent so badly under Dalglish it's truly mind boggling!

I totally agree mate! The have a decent team and will finish no lower than 6th, but they don't have anything like the strength that we have in their first 11 or across their squad. They have Gerrard (when fit), Suarez and Reina, outside of that what do they really have that would get into our team?

The same could be said of the scum, in previous years you just knew that they had the quality to come good at some point, the just simply do not have that quality anymore. When they are relying on Walcott to be one of their star performers it shows how far they have fallen. Van Persie and Sagna are their only decent players. They have also lost their only creative midfield player, Wilshere, until christmas and that is a massive blow for them.

None of this means that we will finish 4th of course, but we have a stronger squad and team than either pool or the scum without any doubt whatsoever. If we can keep our core players fit I believe that we will finish comfortably above the other 2 leaving them to scrap it out for 5th.

I would say that Song is most definitely a very good player, as is Vermalen. Add Wilshere to that list in their strongest first eleven and they're above Liverpool for me.

While Spurs, by the way we are setting up, demands that Adebayor remains fit and motivated for a full season.

I agree that those 3 are all very good players but I think we have better players in those positions. Wilshere is still very young and having the weight of expectation to be the creative force for that team may be too much.

Vermalen is always injured and Song is not better than Sandro or Parker for me. Like I said, for the first time in at least 15 years we have a clearly better team.

We do but we will still need to be pretty close to our best to beat them next week.

Agreed, we will need to have the same level of intensity and performance as we have had in the last few NLDs to ensure vistory. I must be honest and say that as has been the case for about 3 seasons now, I expect us to beat them at home. I was very dissappointed that we didn't beat them last season although had Harry put out the right team from the off we would have destroyed them.

The ones in bold are wrong imo. Gallas/Dawson/Kaboul are a lot better options than Agger and Skrtel. BAE is better than Enrique (most non-Spurs fans probably wouldn't agree but they have biased opinions based on that MOTD thing a while ago).

Gerrard isn't better than Modric, they are different players but Gerrard can't control the game in the way Modric can. Modric can't score and assist as well as Gerrard, but Gerrard typically plays further up the pitch. I think Modric is more skillful and a slightly better passer.

I haven't seen anything in Suarez that makes me think he is better than VDV. He is more flashy but he has also been sloppy at times. Suarez has scored 7 league goals for Liverpool, VDV has scored 14 for us in half a year longer, and VDV is a midfielder while Suarez is a striker.

It will be interesting to see what arsenal players emerge unscathed after their midweek CL exploits.

As it stands they're without....

Vermaelen
Wilshire
Walcott (possibly)

Should they lose anymore of their strongest starting XI they'll be in a bit of trouble.

No way on this earth is gerrard a better player than modric!!!

Maybe 4 or 5 years ago, if that is the theme then Lampard is also better than Modric.

Walcott, Gervinho, and Koscelny all out of their CL game on Wednesday. May return in time for the NLD.

It will come down to the attitude of our players. Make no mistake the, Goons have a rep. for good football, however i can see them trying to boot the crap out of us. Every man needs to stand up and be counted.

4 wins in a row, a point behind Liverpool, 5 ahead of the goons, and we still have a game in hand over both.

We now have 2 away games though, whereas Liverpool have 2 at Anfield. Hopefully Manure will return to form and get at least a point there. After these next 2 games we will have played 5 away and only 3 at home - if we're still within a point or 2 of Liverpool with the game in hand after we've played Blackburn, we're doing very well.

Very hard to see Arsenal finishing 4th now unless they quickly improve... and a lot.

COYS!

The toon will be a tough game, but very much a winnable one.

Man Utd just find ways of winning, even when they are not in top gear (v Norwich). Think they'll beat Liverpool.

As for arsenal, it now looks like they'll be relying on Jenkinson to play at RB for the next few weeks, and their defence is showing no signs of getting ant better anytime soon.
