2 point to secure 6th? We'd be lucky to get any point from Liverpool and probably 1 point from Birmingham.

Even if we played the best football our lives, we still can't score, and goal wins games.

We're like a powerful steam train who travels very far but mechanical failure at the end ruins everything.

We'll be 6th, Everton will lose to WBA this weekend or at least only draw and we'll safely be top 6.

I remember when I was a lad, back in the days when only the top 2 made it into the Champions League, it was something of a pipe dream that we could finish in the top 6. Even in the Klinsmann year we only made it to 7th. I shall not kill myself over this. It looks like the key men are staying, I'm sure our board and manager will be determined to plug the obvious and glaring holes which have cost us this season, having failed to do so in recent windows of course, so I am confident for the season ahead.

We have two matches left. I'll watch one on TV, I'll attend the other. I will stay after the final whistle v Birmingham to clap our players. I will almost immediately begin longing for football and Spurs again, so I will make sure that I just enjoy our remaining fixtures and support our boys as I'm well aware that for the next three months I'm going to have withdrawal symptoms and be very bored.

Luckily Fulham and Blackpool (even with Charlie the Butcher Adam in the side) are higher than us in the fair play league.

:)

As I recall last season we were in pretty much the same position, nip and tuck with City for fourth with four or five games left and having to play Chelsea & Arsenal then City away all of which most people tipped us to lose and certainly nobody tipped us to win, City were favourites but last year we had a good run at the end and this year we didn't, by such fine margins are success and failure measured.

Maybe you should go back and check...because I did tip us to win those games:razz:

It apparently hasn't been updated yet, but Fulham had five yellows and conceded 18 fouls on Monday night and as I understand it we are now second, behind Chelsea.

It is indeed different to the regular disciplinary table, taking into account respect to officials and the like too!

It would be hilarious if we 'threw' fifth place and then got into Europe via the backdoor! Like Bill Nic playing a trick on Harry from up on high! :)

This should be 'race for 5th', if we're lucky we might get 6th.

Joke aside, I really hope we get 5th, the Europa made me a hindrance but if Harry can play our fringe or reserve players like Rose, Andros, Obika, Livermore etc... then we should cope well with the PL and fresh for the challenge of 4th again, but then again Harry needs to rotate players and not burn them out.
