If they lost Luiz like you say, they have Zouma who's been warming the bench, and could step in at any time. Terry still does a job, and Ake did well against us. They have a squad, they got lucky this season re injuries no doubt. No CL no EL, we know that.

Don't know why you think it's strange for a Spurs fan to give an opinion. They have a squad, and we don't have their depth, 'cause they have the dosh. Willian, Bats, Pedro, Fabregas, Zouma often on their bench!

Zouma and Terry lol come on, there's no way they are as good as Luiz, Ake and Terry played last night and they concede 3 goals against Watford...they looked vulnerable.

No one is denying they don't have a good squad...I'm saying that there evidence there to say that they wouldn't have coped as well if they suffered the kind of injuries we had whether you want ignore it or not, there's overwhelming evidence to suggest it.

Lol! I ain't even arguing with you, not much anyway. They got lucky no doubt. We don't know how they would have coped with injuries. It would have had an effect, depending on where they happened. So Luiz misses a few games, what do you think would have happened?

Well we'll see what happens for them next season. Neville and Carragher highlighted the amount of games and mentality as the biggest hurdles they have going forward.

I saw that too and agree. Conte is a supreme coach however so I think they'll still be right up there. They do probably have just as much if not more work ahead of them to get ready for next season as we do which is surprisingly really.

What I also believe however, is that we haven't got enough credit for being the only legitimate contender despite our relatively small young and inexperienced squad, 6th best resources, numerous mid-term injuries to key players throughout and the added factor of 8 European games (all away from WHL) and an FA Cup semi run. To achieve our highest league finish and points tally with those disadvantages is incredibly telling of the quality of our team and management.

That's why I'd make Pochettino manager of the year over Conte.

I don't know that Conte's proved much yet, it's largely Mourinho's team that won two years ago, with no distractions, and unlimited cash.

conte bought very well in the summer and we didn't

It'd be easy to just say that unlimited money makes it easy.

They had to buy more than we did, have had more impact in their first team with Luiz, Alonso, and Kante. But our one player who is in regularly in the first team is Wanyama, who's had as big an impact as Kante. New strikers at each club have been equally underwhelming, and not sure it's a stick to beat us with, that we didn't need a left back and centre back as badly as them.

Firstly, I'm not totally sure how much say Conte has in signings. They have a big technical team that allows a consistent strategy regardless of manager. Gary Neville mentioned this last night.

I do think Conte edges it though, simply for the profound change since he adapted the 3-4-2-1. They have certainly been more than the sum of their parts (like us), and are one win away from a PL wins record (30) and the 2nd highest PL finish, with far from the best team in PL history individually IMHO. It's hard to argue, especially if he wins the double, but it is true he had a lot less roadblocks to navigate than Poch.
