You wonder whether B.Vunipola will ever be the same again. Time is on his side but by the time he gets back the amount of rugby he would've played in the last 2 years will have been basically none.

Sinkler’s been a naughty boy I see. He says it was an accident. Was it @talkshowhost86 ?

From what I saw, he made contact in the general area of the eyes at the bottom of a ruck. It looked like he would be able to feel the opponents face, but who knows what else was going on. He'll get a ban but I think he'll be unlucky if it's called as deliberate gouging.

He’s already been banned I think. 7 games IIRC so will miss the Autumn internationals

I wish the FA had the balls to deal with issues in a similar way. In Rugby there's no fucking about and the bans are a proper punishment. Sick of hearing people say how you can't do anything about cheating in football.

Yeah, it’s stupid. You just need the football refs to all be on the same page, have some balls, be consistent and be fully backed by the FA. It’s that simple really.

Mind you, they didn’t have any problems banning Dembele last year. But in general they’re so far behind rugby in terms of implementing a fair play culture which doesn’t mean to say rugby always gets it right and football always gets it wrong but, it seems to me, that fear holds the football refs back a lot more than your Nigel Owen’s or Wayne Barnes’

After falling out of love with rugby, this year something has seemed to reignite it im not sure if it's because I cant do as much spurs games due to wembley or if its just because the team that is literally across the road from me the llanelli scarlets have just signed halfpenny and are actually playing an insanely exciting brand of rugby.

But so far if the game does not clash with spurs I have been going to watch the home games and I am througly enjoying the change of atmosphere from football grounds where the fans all get along and embrace each other.

I thought you were a Swansea boy for some reason so would be an Osprey.

As much as it pains me to say The Scarlets are a cut above us at the moment. Patchell looks very promising as well. Imagine if you kept hold of Liam Williams your back line of G. Davies, Patchell, J Davies, Steff Evans and Halfpenny. Impressive. Though my old man would give me a smack for saying this, I hope Llanelli do well.

I am more involved with the swans football team (due to family and work ties), although I hate them and the ospreys haha, thankfully I am not a jack. When Tottenham play Swansea it's like another derby for me due to my hatred. It all comes back down to the Turk & Jack rivalry whatever side of Loughor bridge you are born on picks your side its simple.

They have been excellent and to be honest as rugby town over the last few years the sport seemed to have been dying out here due to the Bale factor in the younger generation not sure if you have ever been to Llanelli but it was a town that lived and breathed rugby until the knocking down of stradey park left a bad taste the crowds fell and so did the region but now we are approaching the 10 year mark of the new stadium which I had previously christened parc y shambles it all seems to be going on a steady upwards curve and the towns mentality is starting to balance out and the crowds are coming back (£75 for a season ticket this year it costs me that just for a ticket for spurs without the trains), although football here is now massive at grass roots level compared with the rugby.

I can remember when I was in school as little as 10 years ago we were not even allowed to play football in PE. It was a rugby town and that was strictly it. I was forced to play rugby and football until i was 15 on a saturday and sunday.

Im fortunate enough to know some of the current crop of players as well which had rekindled my interest through going to school with some or through friends of friends.

Steff Evans for me will be the surprise package of the 6 Nations this year the boy has that X factor. But the real star of the show thats going unoticed really is Tadgh Byrne the irish lad he's been a revelation although there's not strong rumours of a return to ireland.

But as far as running attacking rugby goes I do not think there's anybody out there at the moment that do it like the scarlets do.

Yeah, my family hail from Neath/Aberavon so we hate Swansea and Llanelli. At least the Entity that is The Scarletts were saved when everything got regionalised. I know my dad cares a hell of a lot less about Ospreys than he did in the old days when he used to take me to the Knoll as a kid.

Privac is doing a great job and I hear Stephen Jones is doing really good things as a coach there too. They’ve got a good set up and it looks like they’ll be the only Welsh region who won’t get embarrassed in Europe this season so I hope they do us proud though my old man will be cheering on anyone they play against. The hate runs deep with him though tbf he hates Aberafon more and tends to watch the second tier.

Apparently the hate stems deep in a lot of the older generation from the olden days in rugby from when the teams used to meet in the rugby clubs and places would get turned upside down. Llanelli are normally hated in a the rugby sense though for the fact we always seem to produce the best players but thats to be expected in a town that lives and breathes rugby.

He's an excellent coach and if gatland leaves i really would like the WRU to have a long hard look at him he's really impressive although he had a shakey start. They need to add better training facilities to the setup, and they are almost there.

The world the Knoll instantly engnites a deep hatred that place was a war zone!

All the best players come from Neath ;)

Yeah, It’s totally different for the older generation, I agree. My dad came down to visit the other day and he overheard me singing Sosban Fach to my little boy before bed and I actually thought he might punch me in the face lol. Hell of a lot has changed since I was a kid going to the Knoll in the late 80s and 90s let alone going back to the 60s.

Yeah, Pivac would be a great shout, might as well get Jones involved in the set up too. Dai Young would be great as well if he could be tempted away from wasps.

I’m not looking forward to the Ospreys v Scarlets game this Saturday. Could be very messy.

Rhys Webb announcing he’s leaving for Toulon at the end of the year. Tipuric next up. Fucking depressing.

Haha, West is best and all that.

They have actually tried to stop primary school kids singing that hear recently which I think is a shame as its cultural to llanelli. Apparently its not fair on the foreign children.

its being broadcast live on s4c but I am actually tempted to take a trip along to the liberty a place I normally only go when spurs are in town to watch sporting events, I think the ospreys will surprise us its the sort of game they need.

If tipuric leaves Wales I will be heartbroken what a player so underated.

Was away during all this shenanigans and have just seen the video.

Pretty hard to excuse the Sink to be honest. I don't think it was a deliberate attempt to put his finger in the guy's eye as nothing seemed to have provoked that (not that that would be an excuse) and the verdict seems to have been that he clearly wasn't trying to poke him in the eye with any force.

Watching it again I think he was trying to pull the guy's scrum cap off (which in itself is a bizarre thing to do) but then just starts groping around the face which is both stupid and dangerous.

I don't think it was as bad as, for example, when Dembele clawed at Diego Costa, but knowing how strict the authorities are on these things I think he's been very lucky not to get a longer ban.

He hasn't been the same since the Lions tour, so I hope this gives him some time to sort his head out, although it doesn't help Quins who now have an absolutely ridiculous list of players out injured/suspended.

Still...we successfully thumped Sale which was good.

Looking forward to the Champions Cup on Saturday. Quins v La Rochelle. We should get absolutely spanked but we shall see.

Mate, we’ve got Clermont then Sarecens. We’re a fucking shambles and expect 30plus losses in each game.

I see that Rhys Webb has jumped the Welsh ship whilst I've been away.

I imagine that will see a relaxation of 'Gatland's Law'.

That was always going to change as soon as it meant good players would miss out. There’s already talk of doing what the Ozzie’s do and going to a cap based system whereby if you have more than 50 caps it’s all good or something like that. He’s always had 1 set of rules for some players and another for others. Meh
