Halfpenny suffered another setback and has been withdrawn from the Scarlets squad this weekend. Safe to say he won’t even be on our bench now.

If he plays Anscombe at 10 we better hope he can massively up his kicking game coz you know Farrell ain’t going to miss anything.

That's a shame, especially of course for LH.

Get well soon Leigh, but listen very carefully to what the doctors are telling you. You only get one brain!

Apparently a “collective decision “ was made to keep him back to continue training with a view of imminent return.

So it sounds like the headaches or vomiting hasn’t returned but they’re obviously being cautious. Thing is he needs minutes and as intense as I’m sure training is it’s no substitute for match minutes

Sad news for 1/2P and Wales. Best we get him right for the WC.
Biggar will start now. Just hope he makes touch from his penalty kicks in our own half and converts the ones in their half.

The fact that the headache and vomiting thing hung around for so long was a real red flag to me, and I'm relieved he's not playing for that reason alone. Usual concussions are cleared up in a week or so but Halfpenny's been laid up for weeks with it. I hope he makes a full recovery but sadly wouldn't be at all surprised if it finishes off his career.

I would’ve agreed with you re his career a month ago but I don’t think we’ve seen the last of him just yet. If he gets through the rest of the season with Scarlets he’ll go to the WC.

He’s 30, though, and I think it’s taken a few years off his career so wouldn’t be surprised to see him retire after the WC. Definitely hope he’s not forcing his way back coz he wants that 1 last WC though. I’m sure he’s sensible enough and will be listening to the doctors and his family and wouldn’t risk anything serious.

Glad Super Rugby is back especially during this weekend of no 6N or Spurs.

Chiefs/Highlanders was a good game.

Without being overly dramatic I think if you reach a certain point with concussion you should just call it a day. It never gets "better" you are just playing with fire.

I know what you mean but I think you have to treat each case individually. Look at North, he got sparked out a few times in just a year or so and was told he should stop by some as he was 1 away from ending his career and he’s really bounced back, almost back to his best. He does have age on his side though being mid 20s which is a luxury Halfpenny doesn’t have I guess

From the Beeb ...

Dan Biggar has given Wales an injury worry seven days before they host England in a crunch Six Nations game.
The fly-half limped off after 19 minutes as Northampton took on Sale in the English Premiership.
That's all I've seen so far.

How the fuck is he even playing?

With the amount of strapping on his knee it looked like something of a gamble. I can only assume that he was injured (d'uh) and wanted to see how it stood up with a view to playing next week. Don't want to be pessimistic, but it doesn't look good, does it.

Conspiracy.

You’ll be sending in undercover chefs to whip up dodgy lasagnes next.

They're saying now that it was only precautionary to take him off and it isn't a big deal. I'm a bit dubious about that, but we'll see if he's on the team sheet.

Away from the international scene, Quins were great today. We've really benefited from getting all the guys back who apparently aren't at England level now (and I probably agree). We're not Sarries or Exeter. But we're doing alright considering how turd we've been for a while.

Also England and Wales are going to have a big argument over Alex Dombrandt at some stage. He's a real talent.

Well clearly if he thinks he's good enough, he'll commit to England, and if he doesn't ...

Not eligible to play for Wales unless he signs for a Welsh region and completes his 5 year residency, apparently

He played for the under 20s didn't he?

I mean I don't care. If he plays for England I'll be delighted.

He did but apparently there’s some stupid rule that if you’re a student in whatever country (in his case Cardiff uni) then you can play for Wales youth even if you have no Welsh ancestry.

So he’s all yours. We don’t need any more back rows anyway.
