O'connor sacked from the tigers after being smashed by exeter. Who can they get in?

Good news for Wales, Ireland and England re 2019 WC preparations

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/45418712

Wales will play England and Ireland twice each as part of their 2019 Rugby World Cup preparations.

Warren Gatland's side will first face England in back-to-back fixtures, on 11 August at Twickenham and then on 17 August at the Principality Stadium.

Wales then welcome Ireland to Cardiff on 31 August before concluding their fixtures in Dublin on 7 September.

"I'm delighted with the fixture schedule we have put together for next summer," said Gatland.

"We have put together a detailed plan of preparation leading into the tournament and these fixtures are an extremely important part of that.

"It is important we test ourselves in competitive environments before heading to Japan and these matches are ideal for us and I'm delighted to have secured back-to-back fixtures against both England and Ireland.

"The home matches especially are also a great opportunity for us to play in front of our supporters and for them to see us in action before we head to Japan."

The final fixture against Ireland will come after Gatland has submitted his finalised World Cup squad to World Rugby.

Wales begin their World Cup campaign on 23 September against Georgia in Toyota City, before facing Australia, Fiji and then Uruguay in their remaining Pool D games.

Wales warm-up fixtures ahead of 2019 Rugby World Cup:

England v Wales (Twickenham); Sunday, 11 August.

Wales v England (Principality Stadium); Saturday, 17 August.

Wales v Ireland (Principality Stadium); Saturday, 31 August.

Ireland v Wales (Aviva Stadium); Saturday, 7 September.

The NZ v Argentina game was quite a decent watch. The Argies were a lot more competitive than I thought they’d be.

Always had a soft spot for the Argies. They’ve always had some lovely flair/skilled player mixed with some beef up front. It was just the professionalism (and things that come with it - fitness, mental edge etc.) that let them down. That is definitely improving now (albeit they were shite against wales recently).

Not many teams will be that competitive and get much closer than 20points behind the ABs! They are a league apart still (although still beatable). It remains the 50-70 minute mark where they take the games away from you!

Boks just beat NZ (in NZ as well). Fantastic defensive effort at the end to keep them out.

SA looked a different team and took their chances fantastically well, NZ played with a bit too much arrogance and was almost a perfect storm where all their weaknesses got exposed.

Don't be surprised if they work hard to eradicate their weaknesses. It's what champions in any field of human activity do, and it's a major reason why they're at the top of the pile. I'm sure the Blacks would rather this happen now than during the World Cup.

Shit, didn’t see that coming. NZ only have themselves to blame. Gifted them 14 points and Barret missed every conversion didn’t he? Well, at least 6 or so points from the tee. Still don’t get why he didn’t call for the drop goal with the last play, though. Damien Mackenzie fumbling at the end too. Jeheeze.

Fair play to SA though. Like mpickard says they liked a totally different team and deserved the win. Talking of teams that look totally different so do Argentina. That was another great game of rugby yesterday. Was a good distraction from the football.

He played him in SA. I think jones just is into all these different motivational techniques.

Yeah he played him in SA, and he won the game with a cross-kick to May. Next squad is announced, and he's dropped. What's he got to do?

Change his name to Mr O. Farrell......

It is just a training squad as well which EJ tends to chop and change very randomly. However, whatever was said about it not affecting his chances, I'm not so sure him acting like an utter cock (yet again) and getting himself in trouble at the moment when he'd just got himself back into contention (yet again......) was going to be met with no repercussions.

The comments I have seen from Eddie have been correct though tbh, in that the hype and bandwagon from his cheerleaders has been way OTT. He's had a decent start to the season, done some good things, but every successful pass/kick he makes is being fawned over and eulogised. I wouldn't put it past EJ to be just taking a shot at the media and taking Cipriani down a peg or two before the autumn matches.

In fact, if Jones is ruling our players coz they’re bellends (which Cipriani obviously is) then he should sack himself as he’s one of the biggest pricks of them all.

Cipriani is like Ned Flanders compared to Brown and Marler.

Daft to suggest they're even close to be fair. Say what you want about Marler and Brown on the pitch, but it's Cippers' off the field indiscretions that mean he doesn't get picked.

Just a shame he picked Gavin Henson as his inspiration really.
